  1. Brian Burrows threw his wrestling career away his freshman year of college. I think he would have been an NCAA champ (multiple) had he not did what he did. He was an incredible talent.
  2. Well then I stand corrected. He was plenty successful after high school
  3. I believe Apple Valley sounds right. McCauley I think was from Minnesota and not Wisconsin but I knew who you were talking about. I am too lazy to look it up. He was something like a 6X state champ (Mark Hall before Mark Hall). He did not fair well after high school. I think he ended up in DII or something.
  4. I don't know if recruiting in the mid to late 90's was comprehensive enough to really pin down a generational recruit. Cael was certainly a known quantity at the time and competed the Dapper Dan Classic for team USA so he was known nationally. And are you taking about Destin McCauley as the kid from Wisconsin?
  5. I don't have an issue with this. He is 3-0 and took down the defending NCCA champ. I don't see where else he should be ranked other than first. The top of this looks right to me.
  6. The rings 100% suck. When I was in college I went to visit a buddy of mine at another school and they had a small promotion come to put on a show. One of his college friends always had a dream of being a professional wrestler. The deal was that if we helped set up the ring and tear it down after the show we would be allowed to goof around in the ring for like 20 minutes or something. So we did however they said they had to bring their backup ring which was in poor condition so we wouldn't be allowed to use it. Of course they told us this after we set it up for them. Frankly it was all just a scam to get free labor. After seeing what the ring is actually made of I wouldn't even want to mess around in it. With that being said this guy did end up becoming a pro wrestler but at a small promotion. He was a champ of some sort at one point. He achieved his dream but now at 43 years old he is retired from the pro wrasslin deal.
  7. I couldn't tell you why he didn't go to the WC after qualifying. It seems strange, though.
  8. I don't think it has to do with wrestling and more that it's just very difficult to find an elite 125lber. How many 18+ year olds do you know that can make 125lbs? And then you have to narrow those people down to guys who wrestle. And then from there it's guy who wrestle and are D1 quality. And then it's finding the best of those guys. And then you deal with guys who legit can make 125lbs because they are just small guys, making it difficult to compete with guys who are cutting 15lbs-20lbs to make 125lbs while they are trying their hardest to get as close to 125lbs as possible so that when they wrestle they aren't giving up 15lbs to a guy who is cutting. 125lbs is, in my opinion, the hardest to recruit with heavyweight being second.
  9. There is no guarantee that he will win that gold medal, though. The WWE offers something that international competition cant, and that's the guaranteed money. He doesn't have to legitimately beat someone in WWE to get paid that $1,000,000.
  10. I think we're gonna be good friends! Let's talk us some wrestling fellas!
  11. I'm sorry man but this is the only account I have ever had on these forums. Why don't we just be friends? Let's talk some wrestling!
  12. I don't even know what some of those words mean!
  13. I may be a lot of things but a keyboard warrior with a brokenspacebar isnot one ofthem.
  14. The check is in the mail. Should be there next week.
  15. I hear the wrestle off went very well!
  16. I guess you didn't! This is fantastic. I'll put you down in the "like" category as soon as I figure out how to use a spreadsheet.
  17. You don't like my opinion. Noted. Maybe you'll like some of my others. I'll make sure I keep a list of which ones you like and don't like. Maybe I can even provide a spreadsheet at the end of the year!
  18. I know what it says. And I disagree with it. I've said as much. If they didn't bet on wrestling I think the punishments that were handed down are too much. If you don't like my opinion, well I have others.
  19. Well first of all, maybe someone is copying me. I'm not copying anyone. I'm the real deal Jack! Go ahead and jot that down. Secondly I understand that MLB doesn't allow players to bet on baseball in anyway way. Like I said, if these guys didn't bet on wrestling it's different from what Pete Rose did.
  20. This was my first thought. You basically will have zero actual escapes at this point. You can simply release a guy who is about to get an escape. And even then it becomes yet another judgement call by the ref? That would make it even worse. The only way I can see this maybe working is by declaring you are releasing a guy before the start of the period when they take down or on the restart. But that just means guys can game the system who are up one point and aren't good at riding. Let's say they are up one point with ten seconds to go and there is a restart. Now they don't have to ride for ten seconds, they can opt for a no point release and run around the mat for ten seconds to win. It just makes no sense.
  21. Pete Rose bet on baseball. I don't think they are the same so I won't go into my thoughts on Pete Rose.
  22. I didn't hear he had surgery. I know he was injured during the WTT I believe. I don't know if it required surgery and he is 100% expected to be the starter for PSU this season so I don't think he had surgery. I believe he has been doing the camp circuit.
  23. I'm joking guys. Lewis has never beaten Carter and he won an NCAA title three years ago. Guys, as always I am trolling everyone.
  24. As the ultimate authority on everything (obviousy) if they didn't bet on wrestling I find these punishments to be gross overkill.
