  1. Does that ref's name rhyme with Ernie Fragle?
  2. If they wrestled today, at 133. Iowa fans are convinced Lee wins by tech or FALL. I think RBY wins by DEC. What say you?
  3. 125: Barnett MAJ Steen 3-0 Wisc (could be a TF or FALL though) 133:RBY DEC LaMont 3-3 141: Bartlett DEC Zargo 6-3 PSU 149: Gomez FALL Van Ness 9-6 Wisc (he pinned RBY before, no reason why he can't do it to Van Ness) 157: Model DEC Barraclough 12-6 Wisc 165: Hamiti DEC Facundo 15-6 Wisc 174: Starroci MAJ Otto 15-10 Wisc 184: Brooks MAJ Dow 15-14 Wisc 197: Amos DEC Dean 18-14 Wisc (upset special!) 285: Kerkvliet DEC Hilger 18-17 WISC WINS!
  4. Read a rumor on the Iowa board. Maybe Daton's trying to Vision Quest Lee?
  5. I assume it's not a true ELO...must be adjusted per some proprietary WrestleStat algorithm.
  6. You don't agree with Fix #1 at 133?
  7. He's got ungodly strength at 125...both parents were Olympic level judokas (great base for MMA). He's shown a mean streak (see match vs Ayala). He's got the big name recognition, more so than Bo Nickal who has been hyped to the gills by UFC. How do you think Spencer does as a UFC bantamweight?

  9. Really bizarre dynamic going on between Ayala and Lee, and the way the coaches are handling it (perhaps by not handling it) is strange to say the least. Ayala's mom seems very unhappy about it. Obviously the Brands and Iowa will do anything to appease Lee, so there's no winning for Ayala. Likely he will be told to shut up and let Lee have his way.
  10. Brooks was pinned. But does it really matter? Coleman still won, and I can't imagine his DEC win over a FALL win is going to decide his ultimate seed at NCAAs.
  11. If Spencer Lee only wrestles 5 matches the rest of the season and wins them all, including at NCAAs, he's winning the Hodge. I don't care if Keegan O'Toole pins his way through the bracket.
  12. 4xer trumps all though. I don't see Lee not getting it if he wins his 4th. I don't care how many matches he wrestles before NCAAs.
  13. 1. Spencer Lee 2. Yianni 3. RBY 4. Carter Starroci 5. O'Toole Dropped from rankings: Aaron Brooks
  14. He was, and I'm a Penn State fan. Coleman is the new #1 at 184.
  15. Money and fame seem to be enough reason for almost anyone to do any job. Kurt Angle probably gained about 10000x the amount of money and fame from his WWE wrestling than his Olympic gold medal.
  16. There really is no upside for him to come back. Unless he goes undefeated, wins NCAAs again and the Hodge again it would be a downgrade. Not to mention he could lose (255 pound Kerkvliet is looking good), get hurt and also not make any money for his NCAA efforts...
  17. Factoring in college wrestling (both men and women's), freestyle and greco?
  18. He's missed the last 2 duals...anyone know if he's hurt?
  19. When's the cutoff for him to come back to NCAA competition this year?
  20. Or could it be that Mekhi is just not a great rider? He has awesome defense and reattacks, but I don't think he's really known for a being a hammer on top.
  21. Hoffman decommitted and switched to Ohio State immediately after Beard committed. This was a direct result. Jenkins left because of Taylor, he actually specifically mentioned he was kicked out of his "home" because of Taylor.
  22. Put another way, if you don't seed the wrestlers based on who you think the best wrestlers are...you could have #1 and #2 wrestle each other in the first round and #3 and #4 wrestle each other the first round and you are guaranteed that 1/2 of the top 4 are eliminated immediately.
  23. Actually, the point of seeding is to ensure that what are predicted to be the best wrestlers reach the final 4 of the tournament. So they are predictions or projections in that regard.
