In the background of the hospital bombing storm, Israel bombed a christian church where people were sheltering. Relatives of former Republican lawmaker Justin Amash killed in the strike.

Israel bombing Jenin in the west bank. I thought this was about Hamas?

i thought this was a decent summation of what i was talking about

This video has not stood up to scrutiny. watch the vid below for the most recent independent forensic investigation out of the university of london

How can you not be in favor of an international investigation?

Sounds like Hamas might be starting to release hostages. Two Americans set free. https://www.npr.org/2023/10/20/1207526804/mother-daughter-american-hostages-released-israel-hamas

I love how conservatives are now so concerned about overzealous prosecution and the unfairness of our justice system. I look forward to them applying that newfound knowledge to everybody else, not just Trump.
-
The reason they ignore this and hyper-focus on teachers is because they think they can control teachers. They know they can't control the internet and keep it away from their kids.
-
I don't think you guys are ever going to understand that kids aren't being shaped into liberals in the classroom. It happens on the internet. 99.9% of teachers are happy if they can make it through their basic lesson plans.

Data for Progress polls perform really well in the national average. In the last major election, the 2022 midterms, their polls actually ended up overestimating Republicans. https://www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2022/12/2/dfp-2022-polling-accuracy-report "Looking at the polls in the general election cycle, our polling margin bias was 1.9 percentage points toward overestimating Republican vote share."

It's not the only poll Here's the UK: The general public supports Israel, but wants a ceasefire. People don't like watching children die on either side.
-
The other thing Israel has to be careful about is losing support in the US. Congressional staffers are writing open letters and resigning in protest of the US position. State Department members are resigning and leaking like crazy that the administration has lost its mind. The tide is turning. And most importantly, we're now seeing multiple polls confirming that the public wants de-escalation. If US politicians see the way the wind is blowing and have more courage to oppose Israel's warpath, they might be in trouble. Everything they do is contingent on having the full backing and guarantee of the US.

this is unreal lol

Russia's been bogged down in a war with a much smaller country for over a year with no end in sight. That's the type of result the IDF is afraid of.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hillsdale-college-1776-curriculum-k12-education-conservative-rcna93397 https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html https://newrepublic.com/post/174762/floridas-new-school-curriculum-designed-make-kids-conservative "But according to the group’s founder, conservative radio host Dennis Prager, it’s actually OK to indoctrinate kids … as long as you’re making them conservative. “It’s true we bring doctrines to children,” Prager told the right-wing audience. “But what is the bad about our indoctrination?”" https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/desantis-florida-trump-education-politics.html "Chaya Raichik’s account Libs of TikTok has amassed more than 2 million followers — DeSantis once invited her to stay at the governor’s mansion in Florida — partly by finding posts by left-wing teachers on social media. Her audience has come to see these cherry-picked examples as representing the normal experience in an American classroom. In response to a post by a teacher with brightly dyed hair and tattoos appearing to pledge allegiance to the Pride flag, National Review editor-in-chief Rich Lowry commented, “Don’t laugh — this pledge is probably coming soon to blue jurisdictions.” In apparent response to a viral but false Libs of TikTok post claiming a school was placing litter boxes in the bathroom for children who identify as cats, North Dakota’s House passed a bill that would, among other restrictions, forbid any “policy establishing or providing a place, facility, school program, or accommodation that caters to a student’s perception of being any animal species other than human.”" (I bet you believed the litterbox story lol) https://www.cpr.org/2023/01/12/woodland-park-school-district-american-birthright-social-studies-standards/ "American Birthright standards are crafted by a national conservative coalition, the Civics Alliance. The standards focus on Western civilization and American exceptionalism and highlight patriotism and Christianity — and have drawn sharp criticism from teachers and national social studies groups. Critics say the standards are too narrow, presenting a single, glorified narrative of U.S history that minimizes the perspectives of many." https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/01/12/us/texas-vs-california-history-textbooks.html This is a great article examining the way different states edit the same textbook. Absolutely dying at the Texas version of the Harlem Renaissance: "Here’s another example: Teenagers in both states will learn about the Harlem Renaissance and debates about the movement’s impact on African-American life. But Texas students will read that some critics “dismissed the quality of literature produced.”

Do any of you actually remember what history class was like? It’s not a graduate seminar lol ”why didn’t they focus on the slave owner who was really nice to his slaves?” idk because that’s not the norm or representative of the period and there’s a limited amount of time and attention span when you’re teaching 30 bored teenagers.
-
Okay but you’re taking about strange outliers and putting that on a level with an entire system where millions of black people were enslaved. That’s poor reasoning. And yes slaves were sold by Africans. That’s not covered up history.

1) Gina Carano’s number one problem is that she can’t act. 2) I think we’re overstating the scale of this problem considerably. Yes there are isolated incidents of overzealous people on both sides. But 99.9% of this country will never have to worry about cancel culture. There is also a solution to this. Let’s end at-will employment and get everybody in a union who will protect their rights. No more getting fired for personal views. I’m sure the right will be lining up to do just that!

1) infant beheadings didn’t happen. there is zero evidence. also, what happens to infants heads who are hit by bombs? 2) Conservative states are rewriting curriculums to not focus on things that make us look bad like slavery and indigenous genocide. 3) sorry i don’t think teachers explaining what trans people are is ruining kids’ lives. i’m normal.

fwiw, Sy Hersh , who is not a perfect source but does get enough right to take seriously says his sources say Israel really really wants the civilians to move south (preferably into Egypt). Once they do, they feel they can unleash a torrent of bunker busters, destroying most of north Gaza where Hamas is concentrated, and kill enough fighters in the tunnels to make a ground invasion and annexation more tenable.
