Did you read her words before your first post on this topic? My wife and daughter hadn't. And then they didn't believe it initially because its not what the news reported. All I said, was did you see what the girl had to say? They both jumped to victim blaming, and then they read the girls texts and shut up, thouroughly confused. Which led into the conversation where I reminded them that many boys and men are and will behave this way, especially from 8th grade through the college years.

What are your thoughts on Palmer's message? Capital punishment should be done in public so regular people can clearly see what the government is doing when it takes a life, and so everyone stays accountable for that decision.

I have never thought about youth guilt of this magnitude outside of two questions: What are the ethics of killing youth combatants in war Why are dogs that bite euthanized (do they know what they have done, can they be contained or changed) --- its related... Legally the youth cannot face capital punishment outside of combat. So I don't need to give an opinion on it one way or the other.

Honestly to understand you have to put your starting belief aside. Don't say the word baby or human. Say cells or fetus. Then accept that a fetus does not have human rights. With this view what becomes of the fetus is dismissed. Certainly not murder. Do you even know science bro? You likely think a fetus is a baby, same as me. Babies are humans. So from that view abortion is the largest genocide in history. That’s the core of the pro-life position... people are calmly ending millions of innocent lives and acting like it isn’t a big deal. Some options... keep repeating to myself that other people genuinely don’t see the fetus as a human with rights, until I can live with the disagreement. Or do something irrational that destroys everything I care about. The second one isn’t actually an option.

True... Also the innocent children shouldn’t be killed... Also war is grim... Also the intended outcome of war is not "to kill children." The intended outcome of abortion is to kill the fetus.

On the pro choice side, I assume most folks don't see a fetus as a human with rights. So abortion is the mother's decision to make. And many believe actual people have the right to not be executed, even if they've killed someone. From that view, they are not ending the life of anyone who has rights. Pro choice and Pro life are rational opinions if you understand the underlying core belief. I accept that others don’t believe a fetus has human rights, or that even if it does, the mother’s rights come first. That doesn’t make them a psychopath for holding a pro-choice view. And I’m not anti-woman for believing the fetus has a right to life except when continuing the pregnancy would end the mother’s life.

Fair opinion, yet unrelated to the explanation given for why it is reasonable and pro-life to oppose abortion for the innocent while supporting capital punishment for the guilty. There are no gotchas and no hypocrisy.

People ask how you can support capital punishment and oppose abortion. Pro-life is about protecting the innocent. I think a human has rights from the moment their *life begins, and ending that life on purpose is wrong. A murderer has already killed an innocent person and, by doing that, forfeits the same protection. The pro-life point of the penalty is to keep them from killing again. *To me, life begins at conception... To others, at birth or somewhere in between. This 'life begins' is off topic from understanding 'pro life' and not necessary to discuss here.

Executing the shooter is prolife in protecting the innocent. I’m pro-life and don’t care if it’s streamed or not; livestreaming is not a prolife question. I hope the impact to the curious and the psychopath that watch this is worth the message that America is back. I have a problem with the cost of delaying the execution this long...

Last night there was a middle school football game on the high school field. The other team was the 80s Raiders. They had Bo Jackson and used him whenever they wanted. Son of an NFL player. Six foot, 170 pounds, athletic, and he liked contact. Punted it 60 yards. Punt returns. Kick returns. Defensive end. Slot receiver. A manchild. After several opening plays, the losing team put a kid in the backfield just to block him. First play, the beast lateral-dropped him, shoved him into the ground, and stood over him. The kid got up, stared at him, and walked back to the huddle. The rest of the game that same kid double-legged him, tripped him, held him, and did whatever it took to slow him down. Stood over him a couple times too. I have known that kid his whole life. He is afraid of getting hurt by a baseball. I have never been more surprised than watching him stand up to a giant that no teammate would touch. The kid had 5 offensive penalties in his third-ever tackle football game. Never been prouder of my boy.
