  1. I find it fascinating that he has fewer bonus points than NCAA titles. That in no way minimizes his three titles. And he has to be a very large favorite to win a fourth, but the fact is he is doing it in a way that no one else ever has.
  2. Fine, let's use your framework. How many bonus points has Yianni Diakomihalis scored against AAs? Zero. How many has Spencer Lee scored against AAs? 7. And Yianni has had more opportunities (10 vs 9). No matter how you split it 2 bonus points in 15 NCAA matches is historically low.
  3. I disagree. That would increase the relative value of bonus points and back side advancement points (and yes, front side advancement points too). Without looking it up, I assume most bonus points per match are scored in the early rounds, aka the easiest matches. But the point of the exercise is to win five. That should always outweigh the manner in which you win them.
  4. yeah, but why aren't you including Yianni's tournament wins?
  5. I made the same argument over on the forum that shall remain nameless, and some of the faithful said they doubted he wrestles Cliff Keen. I know what I don't know, so I am not speculating, just sharing.
  6. Those in the know seem to be skeptical that he will wrestle Cliff Keen. Regardless of the total, it has been an amazing career.
  7. In three tournaments Yianni Diakomihalis has scored an almost incomprehensible two total bonus points. Does he get more titles than bonus points for his career?
  8. Boy, did you lose your edge while you were away.
  9. Good man. I hope you win.
  10. In the immortal words of Rene Descartes, "I swam, therefore I am." At least that is what I think he said.
  11. But Katie Ledecky is a nominee, too. The internal conflict threatens to tear me apart.
  12. What have you got to say? I'm all ears.
  13. That works for me. Your $20 to my $100? And I pre-funded my lose.
  14. I consider myself to be a bigger PSU fan than @TBar1977 (albeit a more realistic one), and I would be willing to bet $100 that none of PSU's 125, 141, 149 or 157 make the final this year. If I win, the $100 goes to Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. If I lose I send $100 to a charity or wrestling club of your choice? Mind you, I would be happy to lose this bet.
  15. He called me a wimp, so yeah, I semi-like the guy, too.
  16. Dan is the gift that keeps on giving. You guys should be thanking me. And you are welcome.
  17. So is Double Down Dan now Double Down Dodger?
  18. The reality of PSU is that they are a dominant tournament team as currently constructed, but only a very good dual team. If some of their unproven weights turn out (125, 141, 149, 157, 165) then they will also be a dominant dual team. But they are not proven, just full of potential at this point
  19. Just finished dinner with the family. What did I miss?
  20. He was 28-0 last year, 29-0 as a sopmore and won his last 18 as a freshman (the last two numbers per the Cornell roster). So I think it is a 75 match win streak, with a chance to get over 100.
  21. I think Yianni's streak is only 75 or 76.
  22. Retherford finished on a 95 match winning streak.
