I think we have at least two possible scenarios. 1. One coach left each guy off and the NCAA threw out the high and low of the 13 remaining votes to get to 11 total votes. 2. Two coaches left each guy off and the NCAA treated one of those two as the low, and threw it out along with the high, leaving 12 total votes (one of which was effectively zero). The second scenario makes more sense, now that I think about it. Taken to the extreme the first scenario could wind up having someone who was named on only 3 ballots as the top rank as long as at least two of those ballots have him number 1.

According to Christian Pyles both SoConn coaches failed to vote for RBY in the latest poll. He was one of the two assigned to 133. So, maybe?

Nebraska is the value play at this point, but not favored by 2 of 3 services at this point. It all comes down to performance at B1G which will determine their NCAA seeds. And seeds do matter.

We have all heard it. Why don't you pick on someone your own size? Usually it is with youth athletics. You see that 6'2" 12 year old with the mustache and what could be a younger brother, or a son, posting your kid up on the way to scoring 50 and you think, "I sure would like to see that guy's birth certificate". Well I got to thinking about it for wrestling, too. Now that you can qualify for social security soon after finishing your college wrestling career, what would it look like to have grade level championships (of course based on the current ratings from Intermat and the expected points)? There he is. Good morning. You and I have very different definitions of great tournament guys. A great tournament guy to me is someone who has done it before, not just has the potential to do it. If you extend your list to 6 then you are including Silas Allred who is ranked 10. That would mean you think there are at least 100 great tournament guys. I do not think that. I think there are currently 16 great tournament guys and PSU has 4 of them. To be a great tournament guy in my book you need to have made the final. Everything else is a good to middling tournament guy or a guy with the potential to be a great tournament guy. There are a lot of guys with the potential. But as things stand, if Allred is the 10 or higher seed he has about a 1.1% chance of making the final and a 3.3% of All-American.
