How is Newsome's Tax Credits Legal?
Wrestleknownothing replied to Husker_Du's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Yes, in the sense that it would hurt his competitors more than him. He said that on an investor call. But, I am not convinced he is really for it, as much as he is trying to calm investors. The bigger threat to Tesla is if they decide to eliminate carbon credits. I just cannot see -
Or Is It The Race To Avoid Fifth? First let's take a look at how the Intermat team totals shake out based on today's rankings for teams two through five. Intermat still has Jacori Teemer ranked #1 at 157. That makes sense. No one knows the extent of his injury. But let's just say it is season ending (but let's hope it is not). With everyone at 157 moving up a slot, the team totals would now look like this: If Teemer's injury is serious it eliminates all of Iowa's room for error. Of course, Iowa has a lot of lineup flexibility with a logjam a few weights higher. But asking 165 - 184 to each slide down a weight has problems of it's own. First, if those were their optimal weights, odds are they would already be wrestling there. Second, asking three wrestlers to cut is a lot riskier than asking one. So even if Iowa were to go with the slide down strategy over the plug in strategy it is likely that much of their room for error would be eliminate. Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Minnesota are all firmly in the mix. Injuries suck. And especially if they put Iowa at risk of finishing fifth again. In other news The wrestlestat rankings look especially screwy this week with Gable Steveson sliding from first to fifth in spite of wrestling twice and putting two two tech falls on the board. Somehow going from 0-0 to 2-0 cost him over 100 Elo points. Go figure. In other other news I know you were all a little worried about Penn State, but with Luke Lilledahl entering the top 33 it appears that they are going to be OK. They now have a 0.2% chance of finishing with 10 All-Americans. For reference, this still trails Minnesota's 2001 all-All-American squad which had a 0.8% chance of 10 AA's based on seeds. But if all else stays the same and Lilledahl is able to grab an 8 seed, PSU's chances of 10 AA's jumps to 2%.

How is Newsome's Tax Credits Legal?

I am very curious if Trump even attempts to bite the hand that feeds him by attempting to eliminate EV tax credits given that Tesla is the greatest source of liquid wealth of Elon Musk. -
New EIWA Dual Meet Championship
Wrestleknownothing replied to Voice of the Quakers's topic in College Wrestling
If anyone still cares, it looks like wrestlestat fixed their bonus point problem for PSU this week. They now are projecting 19.1, instead of zero. And Iowa's bonus prediction was cut in half (18.8 to 9.4). -
You are correct. I mis-read that. I still think your statement is silly hyperbole though. What exactly do you think she did that is either a fire-able offense or warrants her resignation?

Both you and the author of the link you posted need to read more critically. Yes, the Fed looks at many thing, but they target PCE, PCE ex food and energy. From the Fed: What is the Fed's inflation target? The Federal Reserve seeks to achieve inflation at the rate of 2 percent over the longer run as measured by the annual change in the price index for personal consumption expenditures (PCE). https://www.federalreserve.gov/economy-at-a-glance-inflation-pce.htm#:~:text=What is the Fed's inflation, personal consumption expenditures (PCE).
-
Too bad that isn't what the Fed targets.
-
The September PCE Index was +2.1%. The three months prior to that were 2.3%, 2.5%, and 2.4%. I would call that close. https://www.bea.gov/data/personal-consumption-expenditures-price-index

That is just a silly hyperbolic take. Given the predictions of the overwhelming majority of economists that we were heading toward a recession, to then complety avoid it, if anything the Fed governors should get raises. The soft landing that no one thought possible sure seems possible now.

I have had a few Bulleit wounds in my day. It didn't look anything like I remember, but then I never remember much.

Which Ohio State Do We Get?
Wrestleknownothing replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
wrestlestat rankings came out and Gable Steveson dropped to fifth behind Kerkvliet, Hendricksen, Bastida, and Feldman. His two tech falls apparently cost him over 100 Elo points. -
1:03. And they were mid-scramble on the way to Barr getting the TD and the back points. The TD was awarded at 1:02 with swipes immediately following. The ref held the back points for almost 30 seconds, so the timing can be deceptive.

I don't know about him, but I have a zero tolerance policy for zero tolerance policies.

I feel so derivative. FRL talked about this this morning.

Yep, Lilledahl jumped 49 slots to #26 today in the wrestlestat rankings. That was a lot of stored energy waiting to be released.

The Cy Hawk dual was eventful this weekend. At 157 Jaocri Teemer sustained what looked like an injury serious enough to keep him out of action for months, if not the season, Patrick Kennedy replaced Nelson Brands at 174 and ran roughshod over an old teammate, and Angelo Ferrari used a competition date at 184. With Teemer out, and Nelson Brands and Gabe Arnold sitting (for at least one match), what does the Iowa lineup look like going forward? 157 - Wrestlestat has only one back up listed at 157 (Isaiah Fenton), but they have multiple at 149 (Caleb Rathjen and Victor Voinovich being the highest ranked). Do they bump a backup up a weight? Do they try to survive with Fenton and hope Teemer makes it back? Do they solve logjams at higher weights by having guys cut (if they even can)? 174 - Speaking of higher weights. While Brands was coming off a techfall of his own, Kennedy looked very good teching Aidan Riggins. In the past Gabe Arnold was a 174 who his father said had to bust his ass to get bigger for this year. Does Caliendo attempt a drop to 157, Kennedy to 165, and Arnold to 174? Seems unlikely, but maybe? 184 - Does the Teemer injury actually make it more likely that they pull Ferrari's redshirt and go with the everyone cut weight strategy? I assume the decision to wrestle Ferrari at 184 instead of Arnold was made prior to the Teemer injury, so probably one had nothing to do with the other over the weekend, but maybe it will going forward. That is a lot of lineup flexibility for Iowa. How do you think they use it?

Yours is a very simple mind. You know nothing of my feelings toward Elon Musk, even though I have stated them repeatedly. You like to jump to your conclusions as long as they support the narrative you have constructed. Me challenging dumb things you say is not outrage. It is just challenging dumb things you say.
