  4. Would that friend of yours have been Ed Aliverti....sounds like something he would have said????
  5. How about 1976.....142 pounds ....Brad Smith of Iowa on the bottom half and Brad Smith of Toledo on the top half of the NCAA Championship bracket. Smith of Iowa to the finals and Smith of Toledo loses in the semis 5-5, 0-0 criteria to keep it from being an iconic matchup. Smith/Iowa wins in the finals and Smith of Toledo loses to Steve Barrett, the NCAA Champion the next year, for third and fourth. Fadz.
  6. Dr. Jimmy Martin was fun to watch!!
  7. Yes, prior to 1974, it was termed "University" Division and "College" division.
  8. Look at D1 in 1972 and 1973 ....Clarion had 5 Division 1 NCAA Champions over those to years.....Schalles and Barton 2 and Rohn, Schalles and Simpson in 1973. Division 2 couldn't score team points or Clarion would have been up there. Cal State would have been up there in in 1979 and 1980.
