Even the announcer of the OP match, by highlighting this point as his defining moment no matter what happens, essentially said by omission that he would never win gold.
He Rassle Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I think Hendrickson peaked in that NCAA final, which I think is emblematic of something seen a lot in sports: player/team gets up for the biggest challenge of their lives, but cannot live up to any equivalent promise thereafter. Fortunately, for him it was in the final. Matt Ramos' came in the semis, with the inevitable letdown in his very next match.

Jerry Callo Posted March 3 Posted March 3 There have been 3 matches in Gable Steveson's career where he wrestled scared - two against the PSU kid his freshman year - and against Hendrickson - and surprise surprise - he is 0-3 in those matches. I am just sayin' . . .
