You are correct. The tiring amount are not on the forums but rather social media comment sections. I should have been more specific.

Fair enough.

What does pre 2011 have to do with you giving Iowa credit for wrestling Iowa State every year with the claim that they are usually a top 10 team which is nonsense. In the past 15 years ( since 2011) they have finished top 10 once and finished 20th or lower 5 times, including a 45th and 57th place finished they’ve won 1 conference title in that span. You don’t get props or a pat on the back for continuing to schedule a team you beat 20 times in a row until this season.

Great they wrestle ISU every year. Why don't they wrestle UNI every year?

Therefore, shouldn't Carl having Oklahoma and Lehigh on the schedule - historically strong programs, with Oklahoma being a previous winner of the NCAAs - satisfy the "PSU not wrestling any teams from outside the B1G" issue?

Oklahoma sucks bro....even worse than Corn Pop

I wonder how that happened?

Pretty sure that the brands have tried to schedule it, but the B1G only allows so many non conference duals to be televised. From what I remember adding UNI without dropping okie state would violate a contract with B1G. They they decided to keep Okie state, because it's better competition, better history, better crowd on both ends

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

I would also question whether TNT really have a choice in this . . .

Those have been annual for so long if TNT were the ones to say no we don't to wrestle them anymore? No chance they take the optics of that

Like the national duals that Carl stopped going to?  Did that have any history or legacy?

So, to summarize:

Penn State should stop focusing on the individual betterment of wrestlers on their team, and not send them to U17/U20/U23/Senior worlds, and instead, focus on early-season duals with teams that they'd kill anyways.

Or, they should send their 2nd/3rd team to these events instead, so the fanbases of other schools can have the enjoyment of saying they beat "Penn State".

That would be what they call good for the sport.  Yes

I get your point but that feels different than if the Brands Bros decided to stop wrestling Okie St or Iowa St; at least to me

Irrationally proud former WPIAL wrestler

Why is it I feel you should change your username to @mr.nonothingatallie?  There's something just can't put my fingie on it.  🤔

Penn st wrestlers goals are bigger than just being a ncaa champ, which is a lifetime achievement in itself. They want to be the best in the entire world. Why not just appreciate greatness.

This has grown the sport. Penn st has made other schools to try and reach their level, not just inside the country but globally.

Please tell me how I'm supposed to appreciate the greatness when we only see them wrestle 8-9 times a year and 3 times against any quality matches......... Please tell me how anyone is supposed to appreciate something we will only see once every 4 year... And then tell me you wouldn't appreciate seeing it more often! Without lying to yourself

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

They wrestle in the best conference in the USA in dual meet schedule. Then big ten tournament and then ncaa. Backups won the scuffle. Won black knight open and the mid season national duals.

Their wrestlers will have as many or more matches, and certainly more wins and takedowns than Ohio State, Iowa or Oklahoma State this year.

Yes, I get it they are better than everyone! That's not my gripe. Look at previous comments my gripe is that they wrestle weak non conference competition and I won't to know if they will ever change. Simply saying there are the best doesn't answer my question. I'm not an idiot. I know PSU is better than everyone. You would have to live under a rock to not know that. Yet it is shocking how many people feel the need to let me know that PSU is rated number 1

Why do you waste energy carping on this petty, petty subject?

Seriously, they wrestle plenty enough for all of us Penn State fans. If its not enough for you just write Sanderson and explain your feelings and see how that works out for you. This theme is just polluting the board at this point.

2011 was your date not mine so you tell me the relevance.

Sure, why not.
