I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but I’ve been waiting on this version of Seltzer. Have and still do have high hopes for him. Top 10 recruit in the nation. He couldn’t hold 133 as a freshman, last year was a little rough, but maybe he’s grown into 141 and now is his time. I still would like to to Mendoza also. Big things in store for him.

We all have been waiting on Seltzer and he is wrestling much better.  Gas tank was his main issue, must have got his weight in check.  Happy for him but just as an observer Mendoza is on a different level.  I would not be surprised if Mendoza gives Edmond all he can handle.

Saw an article where Smith makes it sound like Mendoza can't make 141 right now, and it sounds like maybe he doesn't go at all for ND to keep his cert alive for 141

Mendoza at 157, never saw this coming. No Sneed or Conway, things are not starting off great for the Tigers.

I wonder if Mendoza is weighing in at 149 and wrestling 157. They also, have Heiser listed at 174. Both Gleason and Conway got injured in their last match at Tiger Style invite. So I was wondering who was going to go. Cause I have heard Rath is injured. Plus, Steed might have been injured. So It doesn't surprise me that he is not there.

I'll take Seth Mendoza's gas tank over anyone if for no other reason than the kid dropped a 3:25 at the Boston Marathon for charity as a high schooler a month after state and I highly doubt he was pounding the standard 70 miles per week and mixing on tempos, fartleks, MP long runs, and tune-up races that the average Boston qualifier needs. That's athleticism, gas tank, and guts. Not sure how many of you are unicorns (iykyk) but I am and it's hard work.

From what Smith said just the other day to Flo, they weren't ruling out Mendoza making 141 still so I would guess he weighs in somewhere he could descend. Or they have abandoned that and are embracing the RS

My concern isn’t so much Seth’s weight it’s the amount of injuries the room has sustained over the last couple of years. Obviously it’s wrestling and most if not all teams deal with issues however, we seem to be always hurt. It’s more than often than not it’s multiple guys and not 1-2.

This!  I agree totally.  Strength and conditioning?  This all seems to be a recent phenomenon for Tiger wrestling the past couple of years.  Remember when MU wrestled in CK, Southern Scuffle, etc... with wrestlers actually more matches.  Didn't seem like they were getting dinged as much as now.  I realize it's early and best to be cautious, but last year was brutal.

Looks like a pretty brutal beatdown incoming. Would love to see Mizzou pull the upset, but I don't see them taking more than 2 or 3 matches, tops.

Maybe your team is going full speed too often. I don't remember seeing any injuries during conditioning back in my day (except for guys dehydrating themselves like morons!), all the injuries happened during matches or live fullspeed drills during practice. I suspect it's still the same.

Seth had to have been contemplating cutting a leg off to make 61kg this summer.

When I was a Freshman my coach demanded I pull down to 168 for regionals. I weighed 188 pounds and had only 3 days to make weight.

I had a testicle removed in order to make weight. Bad thing was after that I came in at 161 pounds and got pushed around by the other 168 pounders.

Hope you finally got a scale that works...

It was worth it. Reduced my chance of testicular cancer by exactly 50% and put my team on the podium!
