Just out of curiosity Trip how do you regulate Hate? How do you regulate Evil? How do you regulate mentally deranged people. When they (the person) snap they can use a knife, a car, a bat, a bomb, to inflict pain and death on others. There are hundreds of ways to inflict their evil on others. If you can please tell me how you regulate Hate and Evil.

You don't act like a jackass in public and say things for shock value or attention? Seems like a pretty good way to avoid that.

There used to be a "street preacher" around here who used to yell that women deserve rape and got the police called on him for standing outside a local mosque while armed, yelling at people and ripping up the Koran.

He stood outside of a high school and yelled stuff at the students there. Somebody didn't like it and hit him over the head with a baseball bat. If you do things like that for long enough, you might face some pushback, and it might not be very polite. So it's not necessarily a good or evil thing, it's about doing things that you know could provoke an irrational response.

He helped operate a Facebook troll farm in Arizona. He graduated to going out in public eventually, but he started off online. And again as if to make my point, he basically just does the same thing just in person. Except things like this are a consequence of basically being a troll for a living. Not that I agree with it, but going out in public and insulting large swaths of our population might piss someone off enough to do this.

Kind of like storming the capitol building because your guy lost an election.

But... you DO agree with it.  WHATABOUTISM hypocrite too.

There is such a thing called nuance in situations like this. Yea it sucks someone died but the same person also said gun deaths are worth it for 2A rights right after a school shooting, and went to places to debate people much younger than him and say inflammatory things. In this country you have the right to free speech but not freedom of consequences from said speech. Also crazy that he was being asked about mass shootings before he was shot

So, you are saying anyone who says dumb things on the right or left its ok for someone to shoot them (they deserve to die) It just serves them right for saying something dumb. That had it coming to them.

You totally avoided the question. Can you tell me how to regulate Evil people, Hateful people or mentally deranged people? I'm trying to be serious. By your standards are you saying that all the politicians who use nasty hateful rhetoric should all be shot?

I don't think anyone deserves it. But when you start up with that kind of behavior, and say things like how it's ok for people to die as long as we have our right to carry guns, it's more like you're inviting problems.

MSNBC guest already insinuated this may be a conservative pro gun dude shooting off guns in celebration for being allowed to have them ?

Mathew Dowd is a pretty sick individual.

How does that saying go about live by the sword? FAFO. Thoughts and prayers. Can't ask for change when change has been whole-heartedly rejected for DECADES.

Trump needs to tone down his instigating rhetoric. Otherwise, more of this is going to happen and it will go both ways. Already is.

Are you ok with smoking. Over half million people die from smoke related deaths each year. Heart, lung among other diseases. Are you ok with alcohol. Over 100 thousand deaths a year from drunk driving and a whole host of medical issues. Are you ok with cars. Over 50 thousand die each year in car accidents. Please put Charlie words in the context in which he said them. Unless you can regulate Hateful people, Evil people and Mentally deranged people you will not stop them from killing others. They don't need guns in order to kill others.

Not okay with smoking or alcohol.

No one should die at the violence of another. However, to act like this is not a logical result of years, decades, centuries of direct actions is simply obtuse.

We had an opportunity to come together in 1998 after the horrifying actions of Columbine. However politicians decided a blowjob was more important. And something about Obama taking guns.

Are auto deaths worth the freedom to drive?

Of course.

But it can be safer.

Maybe if a smart gun was regulated, Kirk would be alive.  Facepalm.

Um… what about the years of urban gun violence… well before 1998…
