My son lives in DC and there is so little crime he warned us not to ride the subway, funny things happen there.

Back when I had reasons to go to DC rode the subway all the time, it was the only way to get around.

It's different for different people. For somebody that is able-bodied and driven to the same level as me, I'd say a good 50 to 55 hrs per week. As long as I also have time to work out.

Are you actually a geologist?

Who the hell works 90 hours per week? I can tell you that I work harder than 90% of the general population and harder than 99.9% of wingers.

I worked 70-90 most weeks for years.  Wasn't physical but it's still tiresome.  I can barely work 40 anymore.  It's unsustainable and gains you nothing. Everything in your life gets neglected and you can't do anything for yourself.  I can squeeze out a 50 hrs week but I try to keep that to a minimum.

There are 168 hours in a week.  Most people work five days a week which leaves 120 hours in five days.  Let’s say we split the difference on a a 70-90 hour work week and call it 80 hours per work week.  That leaves 88 hours in the week and 40 hours in a five day work week. You’re supposed to get 8 hours of sleep per night but let’s say because you work so much you only get six per night.  That’s takes 42 hours out of your week leaving you 46 hours and it takes 30 hours out of your five day work week leaving you 16 hours in the five days.  That leaves you roughly 6.6 hours per day for the week and 3.2 hours per day in the five day work week to live life.  That’s driving wherever you go, (traveling to and from work), all your shopping, church, kids events, errands, watching tv, working out, social media, going to the doctor, oil changes, visiting family and friends, eating out, school conferences, shoveling snow/mowing, paying bills, napping/dozing off because you work so much and every other thing that goes on in life.

I call bullshit on people regularly working 70, 80, 90 hours per week.  You feel like you did but you didn’t.

PS - I have a wonderful wife that took care of most of the everyday life stuff while I was working/gone so I know you need support to make life work.  It was absolutely wonderful that she could and much needed.  I averaged around 50 hours per week.

14hr x 6dy = 84 add another 6 on Sunday if you want.

You still have 10hr off 8hr sleep and you sleep well.

Not for long they don’t.

6am to 8 pm.   Hourly they won’t pay it due to OT.  Salary doesn’t pay enough per hour for anyone to do it.  Seasonal jobs might work those hours but that’s with a season off.

If you own your business overtime isn't a factor.  Find a job/career you love and you'll never have to "work."
