I actually listen to a few right-leaning podcasts and check Fox News once in a while. Gotta check in on what the idiots talking points are.

I don't really care about Howard Stern. Not my type of humor anyway. I just find it funny that the wingers celebrate any time a liberal leaning show ends. They just want their echo chambers.

What about things that I was talking about.  I bought Sirius xm subscriptions on all of my last 4-5 cars.  I bought one portable device (back when they were popular) that plugged into my cigarette lighter.   All for that show.  I have listened since approx 1992 ish.   I stopped listening because he got less and less funny over the last few years.

I supported him financially (ish) for a long time.  Then stopped because I no longer enjoyed his comedy.

If You did 0.   Is your opinion on cancellation for this show worth anything?

LOL. So you donated to him and I didn't. I guess your opinion is the only one that matters then. Only Stern financial donors can provide opinions. I'll try not to get in your way anymore.

After you posted the podcasts you listen to it’s plain to see you’ve got all the idiots covered.

I would think as a fan.  Who paid for his content for years.   Then decided the content wasn’t worth it.  Yes.  I have a valid opinion and yours is worthless yes.  Your Just commenting along political lines with no idea what the content was about or how it did or didn’t evolve.   100%

as a non fan.  Who never sampled or paid for the content.  Help me understand why you have a valid opinion.   Other than saying the word winger.  Diaper.  Or what not

The winger cancel culture is on full display here. Along with the thread about Colbert. That's my main observation.

As a person who didn’t sample or purchase the product.  You neglected to explain why your opinion should carry weight.   Help me understand why your opinion should carry weight here?

I am proud to say I have never been a fan of his juvenile, vulgar predictable material.  Everything he did was low hanging fruit.  Easy, obvious and tailored to middle school boys.  I'm happy to see his garbage isn't a profitable product anymore.  America is growing up.

Kristi Lee has been on the show as a co-host and news director for 37 years.

Example of cancel culture:  Stating "All lives matter" then losing job of 20+ years the next day.

Not examples of cancel culture:  Not having your tens of millions of dollars contract renewed because your show loses tens of millions of dollars every year due to your antics alienating 50+% of the population.

I honestly wonder how much self sabotage was  part of Howard’s last few years?

He is a legit career broadcaster.  His life was centered around ratings for all 40+ years of his career.   It is the life blood of tv/radio.  In his middle - late years.  Let’s say 1995/2000-2012 ish he constantly bragged about his syndication as well as his industry leading ratings.   It’s a form of him selling himself to other markets.   It was what pushed him into the satellite radio market.   He is beyond well aware that he is a slave to ratings.

To consciously denigrate half your audience is beyond stupid.   Imo there is a 3000% chance idea in he knew this.  He knew what he was doing.  He started this super liberal behavior around Covid when he was around 66 years old.  He is 71 now.   He is likely in that phase of his career where he doesn’t care to play the game any more.   He is also wealthy so the money is irrelevant.   How much of this was conscious and fire me I don’t care??

he used to be friends with Trump.  Trump was on his show a ton.  For those of you non fans the change was beyond visible.  He hated Rosie o’donnell.  He hated Ellen.  He hated Leno.   Larry King. He hated tons of these celebrities he is now buddies with.

I think it's easy to get confused about ideology when you live and work in an echo chamber. I'm sure he thought people who don't think like him we're rare. People in his circle are so far removed from everyday Americans he very much lacks the ability to relate.

20 million listeners per day?!?  No way that is accurate.  1 out of every 16 or so people in the country?  More than the population of all but 4 states or so??  That number does not pass the sniff test in any way, shape, or form.

i am not doubting that you read that.  I don't believe the numbers in the original reports.

1 minute of looking reveals Sirius had about 28 - 30 million paying customers over the past 5 years.  And we are to believe that over 2/3 of them tuned in to Stern every day?  To say I am skeptical would be understatement

Maybe the 20 ball dates all the way back to the old syndicated radio days?

Let me help all of you with a pretty widely accepted definition:

Cancel culture is a form of public ostracism, primarily facilitated by social media, where individuals or groups withdraw support from someone (a person, organization, or idea) due to perceived unacceptable behavior or opinions. This withdrawal of support can manifest as boycotts, social or professional isolation, and public shaming. According to Merriam-Webster, to "cancel" someone means to stop giving them support.

The right just uses cancel culture to boycott or withdraw support for anyone that doesn't support MAGA/Trump. Losing your job or show can be a consequence but is not the definition. So yes- if democrats are the kings of cancel culture, you guys are most certainly the queens...
