Not too get too political, but would Putin consider it to be defiant for the wrestlers to be wearing singlets saying “wrestling for peace”?  I mean it is Russia’s fault they’re currently in a war.

Yeah, it is Russia's fault that Ukraine broke the Minsk Accords.

57 KG: Lilledahl lost by 1 late.

61 KG: Koontz Teched easily.

65 KG: Composito Teched 13-2, with resistance

70 KG: Andonian lost 13-0... gave up like seven three-pointers... can't force them on these Eastern Bloc gents.

74 KG: Blaze lost 8-4, but was like 8-2 late, scrapped the whole time.

79 KG: Hamiti won via Pinfellery.  Was down 8-2 at one point, was up 12-8 when he won.

86 KG Coleman won 8-7 with a takedown in the final ten seconds.

Hamiti and Coleman gassed them hard.

Macch down 6-5, in deep on three straight shots... Russian isn't doing anything by grabbing ankles...

Russians win when they wrestle smart, they gas when they try to wrestle with the Americans.  It's impressive.

Macch wins 10-6... gassed his opponent HARD, too.  Three in a row for USA... gassed 'em all HARD.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Really great showing from USA especially considering aside from Luke and Trent this was pretty much all third tier and beyond guys. I thought Luke,Dean and Blaze were the biggest standouts. Great win for Marcus too but I don't see him as a guy who ever threatens to make a team. Dean feels like he could be best suited to make an impact on the international level, but Levi seems like he may have his number stylistically in free.

Hamiti is just inexperienced imo. Hopefully this isn't his last international competition of the year

I'll take it but it would have been nice to get us fans informed on it earlier.   6-4 is pretty respectable.

Thoroughly enjoyed this meet. Wish this would lead to a return of the dual meet tours of my youth - I remember attending many USA-USSR duals in exotic locales such as Brockport, NY. Well-promoted barnstorming tours would definitely attract fans. But, given how little the best wrestlers compete these days, I doubt there is much interest from many athletes to participate in these events.
