How so?

There was no major threat bad enough that required nat guard to force their way in there. Not even close.

Protests got worse when they arrived. Now trumotard doubles down w active duty marines. I'm sure they'll deescalate.

Btw you pay for this w your taxes.

But why would just having national guard standing around protecting innocent citizens and property cause left wingers to go nuts and start blowing up everything?

The issue here is that ICE was lawfully fulfilling their duties.   The demonstration against them arose from them lawfully executing the law.   It is not so much Trump is declaring war on CA, but rather CA declaring war on ICE, a federal agency.   As such, the federal government has every right to protect ICE officers.   I heard a news report in CA this morning where the guy was saying all they are doing is "enjoying themselves watching cars burn."   Well, now, obviously there is no harm in that.   LA police have this thing completely under control with cars burning, people looting stores, rock and concrete being thrown at law enforcement officers, freeways being backed up, things being thrown off of over passes including Lime Bikes.   Newsome nor Bass see any reason to stop this madness.  As we saw in Minny and in Seattle and Portland, the absence of law enforcement allows the peaceful protests to continue indefinitely.  Because there is no reason not to.   Again, Newsome nor Bass see anything wrong with this.   That is the problem right there.

There was some limited violence as there often is at a large protest but nothing extreme.

Vast overreach by the winger idiots.

Why do states need rights when enforcing federal law.    If states won’t enforce federal law then the federal government will.   At least this one will.

I would say everyone supports states rights.   But supporting the state's right not to enforce the law, even their own law, is asking a bit much eh?  They refuse to enforce federal law and they refuse to allow the feds to enforce federal law.   How is that state's rights?
