If I'm the mother of a person, I can refuse to care for it. Just say I'm leaving it at the hospital. Or tell the proper authorities that you are no longer going to care for it and it will have to be somebody else's responsibility. Do you go to prison for that?

Yes, even if the heart is beating.

The wingers continue to be entirely inconsistent and arbitrary.

I think a father would get prosecuted for desertion. and would see jail time.

Notice in your examples, you didn't include an example of ending that person's life.   The examples you gave are direct reasons for not aborting, because they are options of ditching the responsibility without ending life.

You're not very good at this.  But I already knew this, why am I even engaging.   Note to self......

The fetus can't survive outside the womb before 22 weeks (approx) but that doesn't change the fact that the woman should be allowed to have it removed from her body. Control over your body and the right to not be forced to provide 24/7 life support to another living being are universally recognized rights.

The wingers want to make an exception here simply because the fetus can't survive outside the womb before 22 weeks. That's not right though. The woman's fundamental god-given rights still need to be protected.

Sure, it can have all the freedom it wants as soon as the mother removes it from her own body. It's very simple.

so all you have to do is remove yourself from America and then you can be free of trump

I have too much going on here and too many loved ones. However, if I were young and single with no kids, I'd try to get out in a heartbeat. We're on a bad slope right now and sliding fast. I've encouraged all my kids to get out to a place like Canada or Europe if the opportunity is provided.

It’s such a *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*ttty country millions are pouring over the boarder for some good ol USA.   And … once here they won’t leave.

explain this if this place is so bad:

Worldwide, the United Statesis home to more immigrants than any other country, and more than the next four countries—Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and France—combined, according to the most recent UN Population Division data.

Unless the woman is raped, in which case then I am okay with the abortion, the woman is not forced.   A decision was made, an action was willfully taken, and in doing so another life created.   You can try to compare it to dogs or just randomly being forced to provide life support to somebody, but that doesn't change the reality.  The baby didn't 'just happen' to be in the woman's body.  It was created there by her..and his..actions.   Therefore becomes their responsibility, not something forced upon them, or just her.

That's the last I'm saying about it.  Carry on, i know you have 17 other threads to get to.

Stupidest argument ever.  If you steal a stop sign and it causes a fatal accident, you can be charged with murder in some jurisdictions.  Babies often have no chance to live after an abortion.  Their bodies are destroyed in the process, torn to pieces.

Don't your kids have loved ones (you) that they would leave.   You are not illing to do so but encourage your kids to do it.   That is crazy.

They're late teens and early 20s. I want what's best for them. That's for THEM to decide but I'm willing to provide input. I'm good w their decision in the end.

I have more keeping me here right now than they do. That's typically the case for younger people in comparison to older people.

Hopefully Canada, so they can easily cross back over when they can't wait any longer to see a doctor.

Yah; and they can actually get decent care up there at a reasonable cost. Hopefully they don't bring fentanyl with them if they come back. I heard that's a huge problem with Canadians.

If by reasonable cost you mean roughly 23% of their paycheck going to the healthcare they won't be able to use because the waits are too long.

From AI: The United States has a more expensive healthcare system than Canada. In 2022, U.S. healthcare spending averaged $13,493 per person, while in Canada it was $6,319 per person. This means U.S. healthcare costs are roughly double those in Canada.

I do agree that the U.S. system is great for billionaires though. Waits are too long in only extreme cases because they triage who gets the care that is limited, such as organ transplants, etc. Some of that happens here in the U.S. too.

I'd gladly risk having my healthcare triaged in an exteme situation for my healthcare costs to be half of what they currently are (health insurance costs from me and my employer and Medicare taxes combined).

Wrong. It's all protected under the 2nd amendment. Let's just go all the way and allow people to own 50 cal machine guns, tanks, missiles and even nuclear weapons. ANYBODY.

They gotta be able to protect themselves when an army of 100 soldiers all converge on their home at once.
