He literally said he escalated these issues to people in an authority capacity... Reading comprehension is certainly not a pre requisite here I see.

Sorry about calling you obtuse. I just really wanted to make a Shawshank reference.

I do think it's unfair to say he was fine with all this. As he wrote himself, he tried to move things along through the proper channels. That failed. Ultimately, It does seem like he made a calculated decision to tough it and finish his career but apparently either there was a final straw internally or his wife getting verbally attacked was the breaking point. Perhaps both. I have been in a situation where I was uncomfortable taking action or speaking out as much as I should have in a bad situation and have many friends who have been through the same. It's hard, particularly when you are in such a rigidly hierarchical organization like a D1 sports team, to take that definitive stand. Moreso since the people trying to stand up for themselves often get slammed. For all those reasons, including what our good friend, the comical archer, said, I don't find the timing of this suspicious at all. In fact, I think it makes a lot of sense

Yeah but there is a due process side to this too. The team throwing around "victim blaming" seems to think we should tar starocci as a thief and sex offender based on poorly articulated accusations that didn't seem to need public attention a week ago.

if it was a crime, particularly one where someone was being violated and he hit a wall within the administration, doesn't morality dictate that he inform the police and public at large?

I wouldn't create a PR mess and distraction to my own national title efforts if it was something that could wait until my college career was over. I guess I'm selfish.

Not sure I have seen anybody claiming that. Just a bunch of Iowa fans trying to clown on PSU and a very vocal and toxic PSU contingent that has gone product orange on Beau.

As to your second point, we don't know if there was an incident recently that finally set fire to the situation - perhaps CStarr, frustrated by his loss to Dake and Beau's wife's Twitter posts went nuclear? Maybe it wasn't so severe. Maybe it was simply the retaliation towards his wife, both external (fans) and internal, for her comments that drove him to the edge. Maybe this coming out has been in the works for awhile and Beau was waiting to secure his move to another NYRTC. Having failed to secure a bid to final X, maybe Beau felt comfortable in moving on and making the comments he made.

Well if people are being "violated" then yeah that would be selfish.

this is where I'm accused of "victim blaming".

People on twitter are now throwing around the word "predator", but nobody seems to be able to post any proof of anything which I usually do not care about. However, if you are going to attack someone's character to that degree I think you need some substance behind it.

Violating teammates and "even worse things" to various women over the years. We don't know the specifics on those things and if you want to hold off on judgment I certainly can't fault you.

There was also the specific allegation of theft.

And there's been violent rhetoric in the past.

I can not speak to anything that I would put the P label on, and especially nothing that is "violating or 'even worse things' to various women". However, I can confidently say that his behavior towards and regarding women while at PSU was far from classy and pretty weird, especially from someone of his status. I will say that I have no knowledge of anything even close to law-breaking activities, but what I do know does not paint him in a good light.

I by no means want that to come across as me defending him. I get the idea with those allegations that they may not be someone else's story to tell also. However, it seems like a lot of people are saying the same things without much evidence which I am not a fan of just because of the severity of the allegations.

Wow - This thread has the Judge and the Jury...who is the executioner? Guy's clearly guilty and needs to be punished !

Of what and by whom remains unclear.....

Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Severity of what allegations?  Maybe I missed it but I haven’t seen anything specific except for theft.  “Violating” could mean a wide range of meanings

matscouts has a solution. should beau simply start throwing punches?

For sure. Weight classes are important for wrestling, but they actually don't matter at all in fighting.... right?

They can bicker over slack …. They don’t have to physically fight.

other than that.  Isn’t this right now a one way fight?   I thought Cstar was pulling an AJ and not acknowledging the accusations for the time being?

Wouldn't folks pay to see a public fight?  🙅‍♀️

Right? Correct me if I’m wrong, but bullies, thieves, violators, etc don’t typically “***duck** with” people who would whoop their ass or can ruin them. Going public is usually the last line of defense.
