The paper estimated 64,260 deaths from traumatic injury during this period, and likely exceeding 70,000 by October 2024, with 59.1% of them being women, children and the elderly. It concluded that the GHM undercounted trauma-related deaths by 41% in its report, and also noted that its findings "underestimate the full impact of the military operation in Gaza, as they do not account for non-trauma-related deaths resulting from health service disruption, food insecurity, and inadequate water and sanitation."[35] As of January 2025, a comparable estimate for traumatic injury deaths would be around 80,000.[36]

Since 2017, Hamas' official charter endorses the existence of a Palestinian state with the 1967 borders, which implicitly acknowledges Israel's continued existence as a state next door. And that's Hamas, the most extreme faction in the Palestinian resistance.

Sure, Jimmy is using it incorrectly, but I'm not. I'm agreeing with the worlds' foremost experts on Genocide, people who have been studying it for decades and decades. They all say it's a genocide and give you specific examples for why it meets the criteria. You never engage with those reasons because you're not willing to entertain the fact that you're wrong. If the worlds' leading genocide experts were saying the opposite, I wouldn't use the term.

Here's a question I'd like you to think about. Why won't Israel allow independent observers into Gaza to do their own casualty analysis? If you don't trust the Gazan death toll, why wouldn't Israel let people in to counteract the narrative?

I think it's pretty clear why. If Israel let the UN in to document the carnage and give an official death count, they wouldn't be allowed to continue because the truth is clear. This is a genocide.

Yeah I’ll give you that, Hamas probably would try to commit genocide if they wouldn’t get their ass handed to them if they tried.   That doesn’t mean they are actively committing genocide though, nor does it mean that a genocide needs to happen for “Palestine to be free from the river to the sea”

To have “the river to the sea,” they would need to win a war, but that doesn’t mean they need to kill everyone or even a significant % of them.
