For a time being but in the long run everyone loves a comeback story.  Lot's of opportunity to monetize this on the Christian network.

--"I lost my way.  Turned my back on god.  Hurt my family.  In my darkest hours I turned to the lord.  He opened his wisdom to me and got me back on the path.  I'm reformed.  Bond with my wife and children is stronger than ever."

-"Wow how inspiring.  The lord works in mysterious ways."

-"Thank you, thank you.  The lord surely does.  Praise be."

end of story.

I think that’s basically the plot of that wrestling movie “The Last Champion” from a few years ago…

Haven't seen that one.  Is it any good?  But this basically the plot for every mishap to a high profile christian

Why would PSU delete a Snyder thread?  It has been established (since this weekend) that he has absolutely no association with PSU!  This PSU involvement was all a crazy rumor that seems to come up around WTT, OTT, and UWW events.

No one is saying that or if someone is then they are in the minority.

Actually I don’t think there was a Christian aspect to it.  It was OK.  Which probably puts it as a top 10 wrestling movie ever

The issue is that we can assume this isn't his first trip to a sex worker in some capacity and since it isnt legal 95% (your number, not mine) of that industry is still harmful. Statistically speaking its likely he came across a woman who was in dire need of his help and is still being trafficked or just as likely he's encountered a woman who's now dead.

and he just got a blowie.

i don't think you read or understood my post.

the second part I explained this likely wasn't his first time.

but the more annoying thing is that you're trying to say that 95% of the sex work industry is harmful (which is not what I said at all) and is instead just plain rubbish. i said that legalizing and regulating the sex work industry would mitigate 95% of the harmful aspects – this is completely different from saying that 95% of the industry is harmful :sigh:

If they kept the religious crap out of it, it was a typical sports cliche movie. Which would have been fine, but other than having actual wrestling people involved, it was forgettable. If it didn't have Dan Gable and Jason Bryant in it I never would have watched it.

Oh it did actually have religious stuff in it?  I honestly don’t remember

The most recent wrestling movie that I really enjoyed was American Wrestler: The Wizard.  Came out years ago but finally got around to seeing it

besides all that, knowing that a LARGE percentage of women in this profession are there against their will you're still willing to give him a pass because "as someone who has a family member who's a sex worker, imho sex work should be legalized and regulated"? That's great that you have someone in your family who does what they want and has full authority over their body. That's rare in that industry.

again, statistically speaking, its likely he's encountered a woman who was in dire need of his help and he just wanted to get off...for that, kyle snyder is scum.

Don't you think calling Kyle Snyder scum is a bit too far?  Is every heroin or meth addict scum?  They're major contributors to violence and murder.  You can even apply the same reasoning to people who have bought marijuana illegally.

in this scenario, the woman being forced to solicit the sex act is the drug addict.

are you able to honestly say that you think this was his first time? and if not could you then honestly say that the encounters before this were ALL consensual? no, i don't think calling him that is too far.

hmmm, i don't think you know as much about the sex work industry as you think you do.

maybe where we're disagreeing here (i'm trying to understand your viewpoint in good faith) is you think the majority of sex workers are coerced, whereas in my experience, this seems impractical and the vast majority are willing participants for whom sex work is a positive outlet for them.

either way, agree to respectfully disagree.

I mean he played himself so he did a great job as a wrestling announcer next to Dan Gable. He definitely had fun with it, but the rest of the movie was mostly predictable cliches mixed with some hokey religious stuff.

Interesting metaphor.  I'd say the woman (what she has to offer) is the drug and the man seeking it is the addict.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you or trying to argue.  It seems you have more of a black and white perspective on this than I do.  I'm genuinely curious and just looking to converse on it

i know you personally havent given him any sort of pass.

but there are A LOT that are. all men. we forget children are picked up and raised to be addicts and forced into this sometimes. i just cannot assume that every one of his transactions were kosher.

So I think I actually saw this one.  Does he have to beat the evil rich kid in the end?

So this morning we had some new hires and decided to do a little ice breaker. Things like "who's your favorite wrestler" and "what's your favorite game" etc. Here are my picks! What about you?

I am not advocating for it, or saying that is is okay...

Curious why the superstars of the NBA, NFL, etc. get hall passes when they're not home and Snyder does not.

I know we hold Snyder above all others insofar as reproach goes, and that might be why, but it is commonplace for superstars of other major leagues to philander about.

"I know actually nothing.  It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me
