As President and CEO his job is to surround himself with people whose job it is to know these things in/out. He clearly states this multiple times. You’re only wasting our time.

To be fair, the question was very specific to upholding the Constitution.  As you may or may not know, there is a very specific line in the Oath of Office when a President is sworn in, regarding upholding….something. Can you guess what that something is???  Hint: it says noting of lawyers or the Supreme Court.

The single attribute Donald Trump demands from everyone who works for him is the blind allegiance of a yes man. To turn around and claim he is only following his lawyers' advice is to ignore that they only tell him what he wants to hear.

He's stupid and doesn't/can't read. 

He doesn't pay attention.

He doesn't know what the function of his job is. 

If somebody who had experience of being president before and is bafflingly elected again, and they still don't know the answer to this question? They are not fit for this job if they still don't know what one of the core functions of it is. He's lucky he's never had to hold a real job.
