That was Gross move.  Tricky as usual.
Hardy living on Gross’ legs though.  Nice match for him.  Great win. Lots of points.

Yeah… I’m not sure how they didn’t give 2 and 2 on that last sequence. That would’ve given Gross the win

Geez Caliendo really having a rough time with freestyle

Getting worked over by Edward Scott, a 157lber.

Keep Caliendo at 165

Did he even make it to Fargo in hs? If I recall, he only won state once and IL is stacked at freestyle (because they win the team title every year because IL is awesome)

Does anyone know the bout order for the semis? I see they start at 4ET, I can't find anything regarding bout order. Men on one mat and women on the other? Men and women alternating? All of one and then all of the other? Help!

I would assume they will run back consis first at 3PM, then semis an hour-ish later to give maximum rest time to set up optimal performances from potential world team members. Then again, it's USAW so who knows.

4-1, or 2-0 without passivity points. Then Blaze won on the backside against Valencia 2-1, or 0-0 without passivity points

Let's hope Hardy wins the semi so we get Blaze-Bassett on the backside

The match was bull$hit, really.

1 point passivity, 1 point passivity, 1 point passivity... then Blaze had to go and get one and gave up a TD that would not have been given up had it been 1-1.

Funny enough, Blaze won 2-1 on Aden Valencia in the same manner.  2-1 on all passivity points.

Then you also have to say he was gifted the Valencia match. Blaze often puts himself in a position where he has to and get one late and he's usually able to

I know freestyle isn't reffed like folk but Mendez was the attacking wrestler

Would you have felt it was bull*I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* if Mendez was down by criteria and had to go get one?

Blaze is great but I’ve been surprised at his lack of scoring in some matches now.  Not fair, I know.  High Schooler.  I get it.  I think expectations in my head were lifted quite high.  That said, he needs to pull the trigger more.  Seems content to see who will win the passivity battle sometimes.  Didn’t work this time.

Bartlett was screwed

nah. He put himself in that position. Sure, it was a super lame match but Bo was more aggressive and had better control of the center (major criteria for determining passivity). All Beau had to do was demonstrate at least some semblance of trying to score in the 2nd period in order to trigger the shot clock and secure the win. Unfortunately for Beau, his allergies to wrestling offense were particularly strong in this bout. Or he and his corner didn't know the score but that just makes the match even lamer.

Beau should have done more and been more aware of the score, sure, but there are not supposed to be 1-0 matches in freestyle

But the scorers table had it right and everyone including the ref saw it.

Yep. No excuse for him not being aware. The bigger point is the ref didn't put anyone on the clock and that absolutely should never happen in a 1-0 freestyle match.
