More importantly, where are Miller, James and Duke going to College?

So if a Soph gets a TD on a Sr in HS who had 5 techs and lost a single match 5-5 at the World Championships last year, is that really the flex Iowa fans seem to think it is?

Not sure if you were joking (and it is ok if you weren't):

Miller: undeclared, but is brother to Bo Basset, so people think there is an Iowa lean.

James: Was VTech, but PSU poached.

Duke: PSU all the way.

Also kinda crazy all the PSU fans who are using age to tear tear kids down.  PSU has had a ton of "older guys" in recent years.  Some younger guys too, but plenty of grandpas.

I'm pretty sure Matt Brown was drawing Social Security by the time he graduated from PSU.

And that was before Covid!

I hope Matt survived Covid. Supposedly it had a pretty high death rate for the elderly.

They like to bring up how old Buchanan was when their guy was a 21 year old freshman.

Something change between his commitment and now?

And if he flips to Iowa, will that be Iowa poaching him?

???

Are you saying Bo Bassett's brother, Melvin Miller committed to PSU?  Are you sure?  When did this happen?

As far as I know, he is uncommitted.  Basset made sure to say that when he chose a school, that it would be a place where his brothers would also want to wrestle, and that he would like the three of them to be on the same college team.  Not a guarantee that either goes to Iowa, but theoretically their feelings were taken into account when Bo committed.

I think you have Melvin Miller mixed up with someone else. He is a sophomore and has not committed anywhere.

No I'm not sure. The internet could certainly be lying to me, I've just seen that he committed to PSU...2-3 months ago.

Well...maybe it's not true, but I was looking to see where it was likely he'd wrestle and I found this...a while ago.

Quote

Melvin Miller, the nation's top-ranked high school wrestling recruit in the Class of 2027, has committed to wrestle for Penn State University. Miller, a standout from Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the sport .

His decision to join Penn State aligns with the program's reputation for developing elite wrestlers under head coach Cael Sanderson. The Nittany Lions have a storied history of success in collegiate wrestling, making them a natural fit for Miller's aspirations .

Miller has already demonstrated his potential on the national stage. In April 2025, he reached the finals of the U20 bracket at the U.S. Open Wrestling Championships, where he faced off against PJ Duke, the No. 2 overall recruit in the Class of 2025. Although Miller fell short with an 8-5 decision, his performance against older competition highlighted his skill and competitiveness .

At Bishop McCort, Miller has been a standout performer, competing in weight classes ranging from 144 to 160 pounds. His commitment to Penn State adds to the program's impressive roster of young talent and reinforces its status as a powerhouse in collegiate wrestling.

Though...this says "signed," and...I don't think he could sign anywhere yet.

That is clearly a fake news AI generated article.  There are zero other sources saying Melvin Miller committed to Penn State.

Fake news.

The reason some PSU fans are dunking on Iowa over the Duke-Miller match is bc the perception is that Iowa is the leading candidate for Miller's services.

Yeah...I generally zone out to all the PSU-Iowa petty nonsense.

I'm skeptical that Miller is an Iowa lean because Bo is though. His cousins are the Gibson's right? He was blindsided with the Bassett family(though I guess Oher did end up with Ole' Miss).

I'm not that invested in...any of this. I saw people saying he was going to Penn State, I looked it up...this is what I've got. If it's not true...it won't impact my life.

Be skeptical, I suppose.  Bo said when he was committing that it was a decision based on where his brothers (Keegan and Melvin) would be comfortable as well.  Not a guarantee, obviously.

You are a voice of reason. - @Paul158

I found an anonymous post on Facebook in the minnows group saying he committed to psu.  Did you post that?  It’s dated March 23.   It doesn’t appear to have any comments or traction.
