Elections were rigged in 2020(and 2016 in the primaries Trump didn't win and in the general where he didn't win the popular vote) and then they were also going to be rigged in 2024, but he didn't. About 2/3 of the brand names and about 80% of the generics are made outside the US. We already pay the highest drug prices in the developed world, driven primarily by corporate greed and government not regulating prices. FYI so it isn't confusing...this chart is for drug API's, which are the chemical components used to make the final dug product. Anyway, does seem a little concerning...maybe the tariffs will prompt a quick increase in the production of these API's in the US, but per the article there is limited infrastructure in the US to come close to making enough to support all drug production for the US and it would take some time to get that infrastructure built. 1
