Cute Tweet. Pick a Metric and show me which one the Republicans are better at than the Democrats?

GDP growth?
Unemployment?
The Stock Market?
Growth of the middle class?

Where have Republicans done better at handling the Economy than the Democrats?

i agree, we need to start making stuff here again.

but first we have to deal with the fact that if i start something...

i suddenly have 20-50 govt agencies crawling up my behind

and maybe other problems which i will post in a min.

That's a state issue.

Texas is the poster child for no regulation and California is the same for over regulation.

I've started two(three, but one is just a LLC buying real estate) and...it was VERY easy, very little regulation other than a liquor license.

im talking about actually making a factory or something to create something... not just any old business.

like the tweet below that post about making steel.

that corp has the money to deal with the regs etc... to make a steel mill.

no person could at this point make a steel mill. no group of people could make one.

i mean someone called the cops on a kid who was selling food to earn money to buy school clothes.

he wasn't up to code. luckily the inspectors helped him get to code instead of shutting him down.

I only have my experience with no 401k growth from 2008 -2016  compared to what happened 2016-Covid. No thanks Obama

The stock market started the longest bull run in history in March of 2009, just two months after Obama took office. By the time Trump took office, the S&P 500 was at an all-time high and we had just seen the second-best stock market performance during a presidency of all time. If you didn't experience growth from 2008-2016, the stock market might not be for you.

Obama was great for investors, second only to Clinton. The numbers are what they are.

It seems that a main goal of the tariffs is to “bring American jobs back.”

But unemployment had been pretty low, that’s one of the few things Republicans couldn’t really rag on Biden about, so basically Trump is trying to fix an issue that isn’t really broken (and could get worse depending on how the tariffs effect employers).

The main thing they could rag on Biden about was inflation, but tariffs are only going to make that worse.  Even if they do actually “bring American jobs back,” it’s a lot more expensive to produce stuff in America, yet in most cases if it’s even possible to produce here (which isn’t always true), it will probably still be cheaper to keep producing it overseas but it will just cost consumers more.

I think even a lot of Republicans thought Trump was bluffing about tariffs.  Or at minimum didn’t think he’d go to this extreme.  But of course people are now afraid to criticize him.  Doing a quick search on x, even co-President Musk seems to be ignoring this topic.  His only post with the word tariff or tariffs since 2021 was one a few weeks ago where he pointed out that Tesla is impacted by the tariffs.
