Desiante will go 174, Bullock is visiting soon for a 184.

That’ll be a good roster battle between Desiante and Wright. I’d say it will be up for grabs until the January unless there’s a weight change for either guy

If Wright beats Desiante, I wonder if Desiante could challenge Bullock for 184.

I was optimistic about Wright but haven't heard anybody talking about him recently (as opposed to Crook where his name comes up a lot for a potential breakout year). He was steadily improving throughout the year though if he kept that up he'll be a tough out.

I think VT really needs Bullock, not sure any of our 174's are really big enough for 184.

Tampa Tom has a bright future. I’ve only seen Wright wrestle at the SE Open. He cut to 165. He wrestles hard and with a chip on his shoulder but needs to improve technique wise. We will see if he jumps levels year with a full year of D1 experience under his belt. He had the frame to add mass to be a full sized 174

Anyone know anything about NCST Lineup?  I noticed Derek Fields and AJ Kovacs are not on the roster, but both have eligibility.  They seem to have holes at 165 and 184 and 197.

125: VRob
133: Redding
141: Ryan Jack
149: Buesgens
157: Arrington
165: Latrell Schaeffer or Aaron Faison
174: Singleton
184: Wrestlstat says Rylan Breen
197: Andrew Macchiavelo
285: Trumble

IF fields and/or Kovacs are still around they could slot in at 174 and bump singleton to 184.  Bring in TJ Stewart (rumored) for 197.

Also VRobs little brother Jaydon is in the portal. any idea where he winds up?

I think they like Latrell Schaffer as the future at 165. TJ Stewart at 197 is not a good idea in my opinion I think he's best suited for 184. 197 does seem like a hole they've had trouble filling.

Agreed on TJ at 197. His dad blamed his knee, training partners, ill family member etc for last season’s performance or lack thereof. Weight management was the likely the main problem which he struggled with his freshman year but got hot at the right time and AA’d.

No whisper from TR in this article abut Bouzakis going down to 125. Although it was highly unlikely, this confirms to me it shouldnt be up for discussion any longer.

Not 100% guaranteed Chittum will RS. I'd prefer to see his wrestle this year at 157 and let Cannon go to 165.

If healthy Geog should go at 197, Rogotzke 100% needs a RS.

165: Birden or Cannon

Nic doesn't have a RS, he will have to sit if he loses out to Davino. I would also think there is a good chance Cannon can't hold 157

Completely forgot about Nick’s redshirt year. He’s not beating Davino (lost to him at Clarion etc) though at 133 and he’s surely not beating Mendez at 141…a solid backup/transfer.

Cannon is a worry…that’s a bit of optimism on my part.

@poorwrestler Tommy Askey wrestling at U23s! Any chance he uses his last year of eligibility for the Gophers or is he done with college but sticking around the room?

They were trying to convince him to join the RTC awhile back.

He is competing for their RTC today so looks like they were successful. They don't have a pressing need for him in the college lineup this year but if something happens and they need someone at 157/165 I could see them offering him some nice NIL to come back for second sem

Yeah, I'm not sure if today is one time thing or if he has committed to the GWC longer term.

This is what Ryan has said...

And Rogotzke can't hold 84.

I would be shocked if Cannon isn't Ohio State's 165 next year. He looks massive at 74kg and dwarfed some guys who normally wrestle 165—also teched Birden. They have lots of options for 157- Paddy or Birden suck down, Chittum doesn't use redshirt- Shaw goes as a true freshman- Stiles moves back up to 157 and 149 is filled by Bouzakis. Curious how they will sort it out

... details.

Bouzakis won the 61 KG bracket going 7-0 (handedly). Mentioned in his interview that he plans to compete for the starting spot at 133lbs. Unfortunately I don’t think he does…Davino is just better at folk style.

If he can hold 165 for another 9 months.. it's crazy how much he's growing.
