Logjam next year still though once lockett is off rs

Locket has been adamant about not using a Redshirt since before DT was there.

If he can’t beat Facundo it may not matter

I am just curious how the logjam gets fixed at OSU at this point.

Merrill as the odd-man out this year, would insinuate he is odd-man out when Ross arrives, as well, right?

If Merrill doesn't beat Thompson, then Merrill is likely shopping (so we should be watching out for where his brother lands).

I cannot see either of things being the case. No inside info. Just gut feeling.

Was Jacobi not eligible last year? Might have been a better option than Stoner/Nitzel. He used a RS at NIU, so maybe he just didn’t wrestle at all to avoid using a year. Does that seem likely?

He transferred at semester.

I don't see it turning out this way at all.  I too have heard Lockett doesn't RS and wants to wrestle 165, so I foresee the back half of the lineup looking like this:

165 Lockett

174 Facundo

184 Ryder

197 Merrill

HWT Doucet

And because there's not a lot of heavy's out available to go after, Doucet could have the potential to AA due to the mass exit of great Hwt's. Remember when he was starting he always hovered in the rankings around the 12th - 15th. So he could squeak in at Nationals next year for a 7th or 8th place.

125: Kilkeary

133: Davino

141: Mendez

149: Shaw

157: Cannon

165: Gallagher/Birden

174: Gallagher/Birden

184: Rogotzke

197: Shumate

285: Feldman

Is my best guess.

I would love to see a semi functional Nic bouzakis at 125. I also cannot unsee Mccrone backpacking Kilkeary in the wrestle off and I am not sure that is going to change. Birden needs to develop some offense, if he does, he could be really good.

@SoonerKing any ideas on how Sooner's lineup will shake out?  This is my guess:

125: Beric Jordan

133: Portal (Spidle would be a nice pickup)

141: Alex Braun

149: John Wiley

157: Carter Schubert

165: Tate Picklo

174: Mannix Morgan

184: DeAnthony Parker / Soldano to take redshirt

197: Bradley Hill

285: Juan Mora

Mizzou after the Mayfield Transfer:
125- Walker/Mauger (Walker redshirts possibly)
133- Moore/Mendoza
141- Edmonds/Mendoza
149- Seltzer/Edmonds/Rath?
157-Conway/Rath?
165-Steed/Mayfield
174-Mayfield/Steed
184-Sinclair/Hawks
197-Hawks/Sinclair
285- Nitzel/Stoner/Jacobi Jackson

I looked at the roster this afternoon and Nitzel is gone.

Stanford

125- Provo

133- Knox

141- Valencia

149- Parco/Mara/Consiglio

157- Cardenas

165- Garvin

174-Norman/Guffey

184-Guffey/Norman/Montiero

197- Posada/Borelli

285- Gap

Fun lineup with potentially 8 NQs. Wish they could land a NQ level grad transfer at one of the upper weights, but just isn’t easy at Stanford. Either way, wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 3-4 AA’s out of this group.

Yes, but McCrone has had two NCAAs to get it done and has failed to put together a solid performance. Kilkeary was a blue chipper. At some point the staff has to give him a chance I'd think. And I'm a McCrone fan wholeheartedly. Love his style and back story.

Finally, someone who gets it. Someone has to be the odd man out of this, and it's going to be Thompson. This forum is filled with Merrill doubters and I don't get it.

I'm not sure a sucked down Facundo beats Robideau/TT/Jamison.

And potentially Kharchla at 174, he may have a MRS if he wants it and he is entered in the US Open this year so he is not done competing.
