President Trump honored Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer survivor, in a moving moment during his address to the joint session of Congress on Tuesday, announcing that he will become an honorary member of the Secret Service. 

Daniel, clad in a police officer uniform while seated in the House gallery, beamed as his father hoisted him up while Trump recognized his battle to overcome cancer.

“He has always dreamed of becoming a police officer,” the commander in chief explained during his speech. “But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer.”

“The doctors gave him five months at most to live,” Trump added. “That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true.”

“And tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all,” Trump teased before announcing the honor.

“I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States.”

Chants of “D-J!” immediately erupted in the House chamber in response to the heartwarming announcement.

Yes there were chants of DJ DJ.   But this did not come from the Democrats.   Those jackals couldn't even feel good and support this poor kid.   What a bunch of losers!!

This is what happens when I do not follow any of them. I need the joke explained to me.

Funny thing is I was at the library last week and in the fiction section I noticed a bunch of titles by Jake Tapper and wondered if it was the same guy.

How does one rationalize away celebrating a 13-year-old with cancer being something other than celebrating them being alive??  How does that become partisan?? 

How is it theatrics when it was the celebration of a 13-year-old that wasn't supposed to live as long as he did and wants to be a cop?  Are we to now expect NONE of our politicians or President's to celebrate their citizens because it's "theatrics"??  🙄

Have some of you lost your freaking minds??  How you let partisan politics overshadow being a decent freaking human being is definitely a derangement syndrome...get help!

Good question...but it happens on both sides unfortunately...but I haven't seen it this bad in a long time...clearly the D's have not learned anything in terms of why they lost the elections so bad...they are their own worst enemies.

The presentation of the child was a nice gesture to him and fulfillment of a wish for a poor child suffering from a horrible disease.  
 

One thing I’m wondering is if this family, as well as the maga minions, realize that while they are giving this boy this very nice moment, these MAGA’s also cut nearly $200 million for pediatric treatment and research just a couple months ago.  TV time is nice, but when it gets down to the nuts and bolts of things….

The $200 million probably wouldn’t have impacted this kid or others who have already been lost, and I’m very happy for him personally to have had that experience.  It’s the ones who come after him that will suffer due to these decisions.
