Also, we don't even know how this ruling applies. It seems to have been only about previous JUCO athletes who are now in the NCAA sphere (and 2025 would have been their last year). This Arnold method is something that will test how far the ruling stretches

We need simple rules.  I propose the 55 & 4 rule.  As long as you aren't 55 years old and you havent already won 4 NCs then you can continue competing at any program that'll have you.

I like this pickup.  I don't know if I like him at 174lbs, though.  I think I prefer Shannon at 174lbs and O'Neil at 165lbs.

Honestly, if Marines decides 165lbs is the weight he wants to go, then both of them are out of luck for 165lbs.  High hopes for Marines.

I am not privy to all things MSU, so this is not meant to be rude, but is a genuine question. Shannon has a career record of 26-43, including 13-19 in his last full season of competition. Has he made a level jump?

No, not at all.  I just thought his movement last season in the few matches he wrestled at 165lbs didn't look as good as when he was at 174lbs.  He's a 0.500 wrestler if he goes 174lbs next season (losing record in the B1G, likely - winning otherwise).  If he goes 165lbs, I don't like his chances.
