Can someone believe in freedom of choice as well as be critical of past vaccines at the same time as encouraging people to take the measles vaccine given a recent outbreak???   Or is it all or none...you either support every single vaccine ever, or you don't believe in any vaccine??

No it does not have to be all or none. But to my knowledge this is the first time since RFK has been in politics that he has actually recommended a specific vaccine.   Actually less than a year ago he said he would not give his children this specific vaccine.

Personally he’s doing what I would want him to do.  As a private citizen is dangerous to spread opinion, whatever may think of it, but it’s his right as freedom of speech. As a government official, member of the cabinet, I would much rather he change his tune to freedom of choice.

The answer is yes. If the other side had just been listening to what he has said they would have known that. All they need to do is go back and listen his hearing. But it is so much easier to jump to conclusions. They can also listen to the liberal media that for some reason they missed his confirmation hearing. Is this intentional stupidity or just hate.

Agreed.

And I would definitely not be getting my vaccine advice from rfk or any other politician.

Look, when we were kids we got vaccines.   But they load up the kids now with 3-4 times as many.   MMR (measles mumps and rubella) is one that is important.   But they were separate back in the day.

I remember rubella was done by a military gun and I was too afraid to get that.  We moved and they did it with a regular shot and I said ok.   My mom was supportive for some reason.   I guess she figured I'd get it sometime, and she worked in a doctor office.  I remember a friend of mine went in brave and I could see him in the library where they had everyone lined up.   It came to his turn and he was all brave, they shot him with the air gun and his mouth went wide open.   I could feel the yell or scream.   I was glad I didn't do that.  If you see a puff on someone's arm aged 60+, that's what happened to them.   They literally got shot.

That’s how we got our shots going in the military.  It stung and maybe bled a drop or two.  Not too bad.  Unless you flinched, then it’d slice you open.  Saw a few of those.

Did they disclose what all you were getting shot up with or was it just a "yes sir!"?

the problem is, he always said he wants safe, effective, tested vaccines. but people hear what they want to hear.

Pretty sure that prior to Sunday, he had never acknowledged that any particular vaccine was actually safe and effective though

What exact words?  I know he always says “I’m for safe and effective vaccines,” but prior to Sunday I’m pretty sure he had never actually cited an example of one that he thought was safe and effective

Kennedy says he’s ‘all for’ polio vaccine as GOP senators raise questions about his views

By Eric Bradner, CNN

This was in response to someone asking him about it being taken off the market, he’s not actually recommending it.

Lex Fridman asked him specifically, “can you name any vaccines that you think are good?” He does not name any specific vaccines, and says “some are probably averting more problems than they’re causing.  There is no vaccine that is safe and effective.”  Lex then brings up the polio vaccine specifically and RFK rambles about issues with an old version of the vaccine and ultimately says he “doesn’t know if it caused more deaths than it averted.”
