I don't think anybody can go with him on his feet. He hunts reversals and gasses himself on bottom a lot though and his head is always looming. I think he gets a little overly emotional as well. Skill for skill though I think he's better than anyone at 157, maybe anyone in college.

I'm having a hard time remembering Shapiro having much difficulty getting out from bottom in any matches (in which he hadn't had a head smack prior).  Can you help my memory with instances?

Along those lines, has anyone else noticed that he has one foot way to the side when starting from bottom?  He's basically already on his feet when the whistle blows.

As for the title of this thread, I found this.  How *do* you stop it?

I believe Saito gave him issues on top this season and then both Cardenas matches but those both have head injury implications.

In that match, Shapiro ran out of space at :30 to get the reversal, and then escaped at 1:00.  He then rode the entire third period, so not much gassing there.

In their third match (3rd place match at NCAAs), Cardenas rode him for about :27 in the third period before cutting him.  No more scoring in the last 1:30, so either both or neither of them had gassing issues.

Insane highlight clip. Unfortunately I (as well as many others I assume) haven't been able to watch much of Meyer due to his time missed and wrestling outside of the B10 or B12. Hoping we seem him healthy in March.
