Angelo did like this post today from CP, so there's that

That speaks to whether he should sit out this year. It does not speak to whether he will wrestle four more years after this for Iowa.

I have no reason to believe he will wrestle anywhere else. especially given what he said in his post match interview with Sparks, but money.

That makes sense tho. I am not questioning why Iowa is heavy in the portal or is paying guys lots of money.  Caliendo is mulit-year starter and will part of the line up next year.

I just don't get why they went and got 1 year rentals.  If this wasn't the year they were going to try and maximize points, whey didn't they try and pay highly ranked underclassman.

I didn't either until I watched the dual last night and saw that packed arena. They did it for the fans, man. Buchanan, Teemer, and Parco are ALL ranked #1/2. They got who they could get and their fans are loving it. I'm sure if they could have gotten sophomore national champs to transfer they would have.

Just ask him.
Hey Angelo, what is your ceiling at NCAAs this year:
image.jpeg.c5b133fa5a3be818b977a06442b54e83.jpeg
Costar, Keck, McEnelly and Plott who he has beaten but could he do it again.
3 of these guys are gone next year which would lead to more upside if they rs him this year.

I understand why Iowa is  redshirting Ferrari as they will get more out of him over the next 4 years.

What I can't understand is why did they pay all that money for 1 year transfers, but not put out their best lineup?

This is why I think they might pull his shirt still.

Anyone else think Teemer has a little of that HEW look to his game?

Parco and Buchanon seem to have more energy, but Jacori seems to me like he has more to give but is kinda mailing it in. Doing just the bare minimum.

He always appears that way.  It's his style and has worked for him his whole career.  I expect him in the 157 pound finals at NCAAs.

Last year, they kept the shirt on Arnold and it quite possibly was the factor in the 5th place finish. If Arnold wrestles, they take second.  Do the donors/coaches care about the individual more than team placement?  It could happen again this year with keeping Ferrari sidelined.  The Hawkeyes are vulnerable at 125, 141, 157, 174, 184 and HWT,  At best, they get two AA from those weight.  At worst, if they perform like they normally do at NCAA's, none.  OK state, NEB and Cornell could easily place ahead.

they took 5th because Abas, Brands and Cassiopi couldn't wrestle.

Agree on Teemer.  First the hamstring injury and then the shoulder brace don't look good.   I am sure he is really hurt but soft tissue injuries are more likely to occur when you haven't been training as hard.

They knew those guys were out prior to the season starting.  They bought some talent to replace. As the season progresses, teams make adjustments pertaining to injuries and performance.  At the end of the day, Iowa had a second place team in the room.  They opted not to run that team out.  It could happen again.  So does the individual matter more than the team placement to donors/coaches?

Teemer in the 157 final? So he'll not be upset himself and will beat either Kasak or Shapiro? I don't like his chances.

Keep in mind that is coming from a troll account that likes to max out Iowa's potential and provide PSU's doomsday scenarios as facts.

Kasak and Shapiro are both also banged up. Out of the three of them Teemer is the only one who has actually made a finals appearance so far and is the only one who has actually wrestled recently.

I think we might see some innovative head gear for Kasak. He had a foam rectangle on his forehead for American

@Jimmy Cinnabon misses every shot he doesn't take. And most of the shots he does takes. But every now and again he starts a good topic. Lotta chaff with a little wheat.

They always pack the arena for the OSU dual, its been going on for decades, doesn't take a little focus.

Don’t they also have the highest attendance numbers like every year?
