Legend has it that Iowa wrestling fans will call STALLING while in line for the concession stand, if one hesitates to decide whether to have a large or medium Mt. Dew.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I've seen Iowa fans call stalling if one's Carver Cone starts dripping down the sides.

That IS stalling. Get to work on that cone. Ice cream should never have time to drip if you are doing it right.

Am I the only one that find Iowa fans to be super annoying. Like the 133 match OSU wrestler gets taken down and less than 15 seconds later the fans are booing like he's been there for over a minute. It just seems like they are always desperate for stall calls.

Interesting example you chose to cherry pick from. Sakamoto did absolutely nothing from bottom, just lying there motionless on his belly and looking lost. I get that he's still adjusting to the style, but it's crazy that Taylor threw a kid with no mat skills out there against Ayala.

He could teach rby what par terre is I bet….. and rby could teach sakamoto referee’s position.

If a wrestler with no arms and legs didn’t get off their belly in 1 second they’d be calling for stalling.

There was a time when phocomelia jokes were in poor taste, but it's a brave new world that has such people in it.

The older fans grew up seeing Dan Gable push & push & push. 1981 he even pushed the ref to call Stalling in Tim Riley, one of his wrestlers. The ref saw Gable making Stalling motions & yelling "he's stalling" and started calling it - until Riley was done & was disqualified for all the stalling calls.

Yep, Iowa fans are highly attuned to STALLING - but still give their own wrestlers much more leeway that Gable would.
