Also, there's something to going in to the post season with a high level of confidence. If Arnold loses here (which he would) I can imagine his confidence heading in to Big Tens will be at an all time low with losing to McEnelly and Plott back to back.

Yeah but at the same time, how confident could he be feeling like he is not the guy the Brands want out there in a big match situation like this?  You already saw his reaction to when Angelo took the mat for Penn State.

The topic is the Ferrari match. The match was 2-1; there was no bonus. One fewer stall call and it's tied. That's not dominant.

Nelson Brands wrestled Carter closer than Ferrari.  That score was actually 2-1.  After the match, no one was anointing Nelson National champ potential.

There is a difference between '23 and '25 Starocci. In '23 he had a 5-1 win over Julian Broderson, a 2-1 win over Brands, a 4-0 win over DJ Washington, a 5-2 win over Bailee O'Reilly. This year he has all bonus point victories except the Ferarri match. He has been much more offensive this year.

You're welcome.

We had a good talk.

I told him if he quit being Sta(l)rocci and started being StaRocci, I would quit calling him Sta(l)rocci.

As much as it pains me to say, Carter has earned the Starocci (from Sta(l)rocci) upgrade.

Exactly. He wants the Hodge real bad this year and he still couldn't score on Angelo

"We’re just not gonna talk about that stuff,” said Brands on his lineup. “It’s gonna always be vague. I know we got a lot of good guys, and the problem is there’s 10 weight classes and we got maybe more than 10 guys that can do very well that we believe in.”

Brands load management comments about Arnold translated to me:

"we are tolerating Arnold for now because I've dug this hole with him. Angelo is our future. I regret not starting Angelo this entire season"

But there will be "sprinkles" on the 23rd.  I'm betting the sprinkles will be Angelo.

It's a good indication that Ferrari is very good and a real potential future champ, I don't think any of us aren't impressed.  Some of us just don't think it says much about him being a threat to beat Starocci, who has a track record of wrestling carefully and tactically at times based on his read of the big picture.  Enjoyable to watch?  No.  But that's what Mesenbrink is for.

Ferrari took twice as many shots as Carter. Was in on his legs multiple times.

Just curious, because other than AJ and Angelo I just rarely see a wrestler constantly go to one knee. On occassion, sure, but constantly, no.

What kind of shot are college wrestlers routinely taking against wrestlers already on one knee?
