1032004 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Was discussed on Basch and Willie. He beat Blaze earlier in the year at a tournament. Should be a pretty close dual though. If he sits then further evidence that duals don’t matter
Pinnacle Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I voted NO because I think he likes to compete. He competed in February duals against some tough wrestlers in the past like SVN and Austin Gomez so no reason to believe he won't compete against Blaze.

Title is will he sit but poll is will he wrestle. Sorry for the confusion 1

He already holds a win over Blaze and the #1 seed is on the line. It is looking more and more like Teemer might end up getting the 6 or even 7 seed (see the link below for reasoning). That puts Askey and Blaze topside with him with Taylor, Kasak, and Teemer all on the bottom side. Ergo, there is reason to believe. Edited February 14 by nhs67 1 "I know actually nothing. 1032004 Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 If Miller wrestles and loses, does Kasak go back to #1? Then Miller probably drops all the way down to like 5?
1032004 Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Bumped wrong thread by accident, but I bet Clemsen sits him, considering Clemsen is basically on record as admitting to ducking

I think so, yes. It still puts Taylor and Teemer on the other side, though. "I know actually nothing. It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me
nhs67 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 @Husker_Du Poat your B1G seeds link here? "I know actually nothing. It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me
Jimmy Cinnabon Posted February 14 Posted February 14 He will sit since he literally has nothing to gain by wrestling. If he loses it hurts his seed for Big 10s.

I know you’re trolling but it matters for the dual. A team like Maryland may care about winning B10 duals. But I’m sure they care more about NCAA seeding. Wrestlestat has it 22-15 giving 157 to Blaze. If Miller wins and the rest goes chalk it comes down to bonus points.

1032004 Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Purdue wins 23-14 with Blaze getting a tech fall against the backup

Mr. PeanutButter Posted February 15 Posted February 15 that's a major disappointment. Something needs to change. Maybe replace the big ten tournament with a dual tournament? 1
1032004 Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 (edited) Posted this in a different thread but clearly Clemsen has been thinking about seedings Worth noting that among the items listed on the voting sheets: -Miller is currently ranked as the 4th highest 157 in the B10 by both Flo and Intermat, both of which still have Kasak as #1 -Miller went 1-2 at NCAA’s last year in the same bracket where Kasak took 3rd -Miller placed 4th at B10’s last year in the same bracket where Kasak took 3rd (Kasak won by pinfall) I’m sure they won’t do it, but considering there is no official seeding criteria (as Clemsen says himself!), IMO there is valid reason for Kasak to still be the 1 seed at B10’s. Flo and intermat aren’t counting the injury default in their rankings, why do B10 coaches need to? Edited February 15 by 1032004

Rankings are different than seedings.

Not many of them comment on Twitter about it 2. I know, but they are a factor in seedings If someone argues “Miller showed up against Kasak, it’s not his fault Kasak didn’t finish the match,” then I’d counter that by saying Miller did not show up against Blaze in the dual, so he could certainly be penalized for that. Miller should absolutely be seeded ahead of Teemer though since he showed up to that dual and Teemer didn’t.

You don't have to think he's better (ranking), but you do have to acknowledge it as a win (seeding). If you want to penalize people for not wrestling scheduled events, I'm fine with that. But you have to do it for everyone regardless of their stated reason for missing.
