125 Flynn over Cruz 3-0
133 Ayala over Wells 3-3
141 Vombaur maj Schriever or Block 7-3
149 Parco maj Roberts 7-7
157 Teemer over Askey 7-10
165 Caliendo over sparks 7-13
174 Kennedy over Whiting 7-16
184 McEnelly over Arnold 10-16
197 Buchanan over Salazar 10-19
HWT Gable tech Kueter 15-19

Ranking possible upsets by highest to lowest in terms of likelihood (gophers favor)

1. Askey beating Teemer (will probably be a 1 TD match either way)
2. Sparks beating Caliendo
3. Wells beating Ayala

— gap —

4. Whiting beating Kennedy (more likely if its Brands imo)
5. Salazar beating Buchanan (I think a major by Iowa is more likely than us winning)

— gap —

6. Roberts over Parco. I don’t think we have any shot here at all.

It is interesting stylistically how well Sparks matches up with Caliendo. In their four matches, Caliendo is 4-0 but they have been competitive.

7-5 (IIRC Sparks was winning late)

2-1

5-2

11-10

Sparks is a tough kid and I agree that he's been wrestling well lately, but Caliendo's got him figured out by now and the gap will only widen. IIRC Sparks took Caliendo down off of a slip last time and scored a couple of escapes after Cal cut him loose. His length doesn't seem to give MC any problems, can't ride Caliendo and has a hard time getting out from underneath. I expect the final score to be closer to a major than a decision.

I right now think Askey should be the favorite over Teemer. I understand their career resumes are not remotely similar, but Teemer is in year 7 has had an injury riddled career and I honestly just don't think he has looked good this year. I don't want to write him off he could have just needed a little more time off and will be back to last season form, but I think there is a chance he's just not quite the same guy and Askey quite frankly has been great this year and just dominated Brandon Cannon who I think may be Ohio state's best 157.

C'mon Vak. You're never going to find someone else to take a pick'em bet between Askey and Teemer. 😂
