Jordan Williams just beat Oklahoma states starter Carter Young.

Did you see the match?  Do you know what he did to get kick out?

No I haven't seen the match yet, just saw the result. And I heard he violated the alcohol policy. I feel coaches should help kids showing signs of substance abuse rather than kick them off the team. I can't help but think if Chance would have been helped sooner he could have avoided alot of trouble.

Jordan Williams can wrestle and I like seeing him succeed at little rock.

According to Jordan himself, David Taylor and the staff saved his life.

Very cool article, thanks for sharing that.  It still sounds like maybe Taylor could have gotten more involved with trying to help Williams before giving him the boot.  It sounds like Erisman and little rock is a good fit. I hope Williams continues to succeed there.

Makes sense if folks with substance abuse issues make rational decisions. But, they don't. You can't empathize away substance abuse. Thus, the 1st of the 12 steps.

Per the linked article, it seems like kid took the first step.

Jordan Williams keeping David Taylor up at night!  Big mistake letting him go.

Williams was nothing special.

Then it sounds like you don't know the reason.

And how many shots did JW take in this match you didn't see?

And maybe he needed to be in a different place to move on.  He's got a good coach and with a good program.

Very cool story about Carter and Jordan. It was not a bad move for Taylor.... it ended up being a win win for everyone involved. That's what you want to see happen.

I missed that Surber beat Little at first.  Nice win.  He looks to be the best example of any potential Taylor effect so far (and maybe helps that he’s about the same size so guessing he works with him a bit)

I don’t think anyone expected Witcraft or Young to win, Fish was a disappointment, but it happens.

The way Fish wrestles nearly anything is possible, good or bad.

Witcraft got smoked by Bailey. I think OSU should run with Cael Hughes, not Witcraft.

Might be the right move, but both guys appear to be pretty banged up. Before wrestling Orine, Hughes said he wasn't even on the mats for more than a month with a shoulder injury. Reece looks like his knee is getting worse since Cliff Keen.

You must not have watched Hughes get smoked by Julian Farber.

I think both Witcraft and Hughes are R16 type guys who might place if they get a good draw, at best.

Better than keeping him up at night bailing him out of jail.
