Keep him in or let him in?

They were on their feet and he was being somewhat aggressive.   I just didn’t understand it.   No biggie just wanna understand the rule.

I'm asking what the ref said. Keep him in doesn't make much sense.

He said to Gabe…. After the stall call before the restart something like ….  I got you for stalling (so he would know) it’s your responsibility to keep him in.   I posted cause it didn’t make much sense to me either.    It didn’t impact the match so I’m just curious.

I can re fire up the match later it’s on btn+

Pushing without actively trying to score. I guess his "mindset" wasn't strong enough

"pushing" as stalling is one of the more pervasive BS ideas in wrestling.

He appeared to be offensive minded at the time too imo.  Gabe did.  Later in ot those bs lower leg counts happened 2/3/4 times when Gabe was trying to turn.   Gotta stop messing with these rules.   😞

I haven't watched it yet, but maybe he wouldn't let him back in...you see that a lot.

I feel like the lower leg count should be cumulative instead of restarting the count each time.

I’ve thought that too.   And I agree.  To many sit 1/2/3/4 and stop.  The. Sit 1/2/3/4 stop etc.  but I was legislated stalling out of wrestling.   We know what it looks like just call it.   Maybe keep danger / neutral danger

But I think the original intent from that Dillon/lehigh match in the semis was that blatant drop to the ankle to prevent an escape / kill time especially in ot.   That is a good use for this rule.   I don’t see that occur much any more.  I see people getting called post double leg or what not when it’s i guess the same …. But also very different.  In ot on Gabe that was bs I thought he was looking for a turn.

sometimes they count right after a td.  Every time i see that even if its psu i think that’s just dumb.  .

I think it was a very time-delayed and long distance stall call from the Penn State match on Friday.  Arnold  was "playing the edge" from out of bounds while Ferrari wrestled.  Arnold never showed up for the tag in a planned tag-team scenario ... perhaps because he was in the stall himself.image.jpeg.d5ca497e680e5bfc140735e0f4f480e5.jpeg

That's why I asked what he said.

This wasn't the first time I've seen that called, but it is rare.  I think I saw it at NCAA's a year or two ago.

Arnold wasn't wrestling, he was fingerlocking and just pushing out of bounds, pushing out of bounds without wrestling is illegal under the rules.  Refs typically just call action, but in the case where it was actively inhibiting action in the match, there is room for a stall call.

Again, super rare because typically if somebody has the horsepower to push their opponent out of bounds that many times, they have more than what they need to execute other offense rather successfully.

But...gabe arnold is proving to be one of those "shooting is spooky" wrestlers.

I'm going to call it here first.  I think Arnold goes 2-2 at best at NCAA's, and he won't be the guy after this year.  Ferrari probably puts it on him pretty good, and I'm betting we see arnold in another singlet before the end of his college career.

That is a uniquely disgusting insult.

Almost as disgusting as the fact that I'm sure you only eat smooth peanut butter.
