"Forbidden terms" is so straight out of a communist country like Russia, NK, or China that I find it difficult to wrap my head around the fact that it is in the US and coming from the Trump administration.

I have visions of black vans driving around picking offenders up in the middle of the night, never to be seen again. That is routinely done in the aforementioned communist countries.

Which is even more crazy because ICE already does exactly that in the US - without legitimate due process, and with little pushback from citizens.

We're coming up on Super Bowl LIX soon - we'll have maybe a couple hundred million tuning in and watching.

But the purposeful erosion of freedom in America? All we'll hear is crickets.

Also to be forbidden, “obesity.” We should make a list of some of the best over the years.

This website is from the UK.

”Simon Goddek” is a hack btw.

You preferred it when:

Commonly used terms such as “manpower,” “you guys,” “ladies and gentlemen,” “mother/father,” “son/daughter” and “husband/wife” should be avoided, according to the State Department chief, and replaced with words like, “labor force,” “everyone,” “folks,” “you all,” “parent,” “child,” “spouse” or partner” instead.”

You struggle with the difference between "should be avoided" and "banned".

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

I was wondering the same thing. Is this one of the planks of Project 2025 that Trump said he knew nothing about?

Yup.

Posted

Trump has overlapping personnel that contributed to project 2025, and this section on vocabulary is an implicit extension of Trump's formally declared Agenda 47 agenda.

Recall that Agenda 47 says

Quote

Republicans Will End Left-wing Gender Insanity We will keep men out of women’s sports, ban Taxpayer funding for sex change surgeries, and stop Taxpayer-funded Schools from promoting gender transition, reverse Biden’s radical rewrite of Title IX Education Regulations, and restore protections for women and girls.

AND

Quote

Knowledge and Skills, Not CRT and Gender Indoctrination Republicans will ensure children are taught fundamentals like Reading, History, Science, and Math, not Leftwing propaganda. We will defund schools that engage in inappropriate political indoctrination of our children using Federal Taxpayer Dollars

Trump explicitly disagreed with parts of project 2025.  Abortion was the big topic of disagreement, with Trump advocating for arguments at the state level rather than Federal level.

So you are going to see parts but not all of project 2025 included.

Your concern is important but misplaced. Controlling the language in federal government documents doesn't amount to the public suppression you see in authoritarian countries like Russia, North Korea, or China, where people might literally vanish for speaking out.

Comparing ICE's policing of criminal aliens against policing government document word choice is inaccurate.

There’s a chill inside CDC, according to the staffer, though they concede it’s entirely possible that some staffers agree with the changes. Most people, however, seem on edge.

“I feel like already there’s a lot of self-censorship,” said the CDC employee. “I feel like this will have effects beyond any specific memo. People are really walking on eggshells about what they say.”

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW it felt to the silent majority from 2015 to 2021.

Yes you will. He's already started doing things he said he wouldn't do and instead of pretending he'd never heard of Project 2025 it's now his playbook.

I think a lot of people like you support him because you don't want to admit you fell for the lies of a career con man who is now a convicted felon.
