im suprised stallrocci didn't send out a sick tweet after his match

Even he probably knows sending out a tweet after beating a true freshman w/o a takedown isn’t the best look.

A couple of thoughts:

The Brands/Iowa know that the best bet to beat Cstar is the first time. Look at his track record against guys over time (last year not withstanding as he was not close to 100%).

I believe/think were looking for information from this match to help prepare for the Big Ten and NCAA tournament for Arnold, assuming he doesn't get handed another loss down the stretch, if he does I can see him lose the spot to Ferrari.

I also think that Cael and CStar know this about Brands and probably had him hold back a bit. "Don't show everything you got" mentality.

Maybe I'm giving everyone too much credit and I'm thinking chess and they're playing checkers but I think there was a lot more strategy to the whole thing, on both sides, then people are giving credit for.

The whole match is being way, way over thought by the wrestling fans on this board who are pitching the idea that a 5th year senior could not take down a freshman. Ferrari spent almost the entire match either backing up and making any action take place on the boundary or going to a knee. More than a minute evaporated with Starocci riding him. Ferrari came forward for about 20 seconds and wound up with Starocci on his leg a third time, and the ref stalemated it. If not for the boundary, the clock, or a dumb stalemate e probably gets taken down. But aside from all that, Stariocci did not need to take him down because the score was 3-1.

Everything?  He and his bro have a different style of wrestling it works to score and win. He got to the legs how many times?  How many offensive points did Starocci score with his championship style.  Maybe cstar wasn't doing everything.

Getting to legs to avoid stall calls is different than getting to legs to score.
