I think to have a chance to get a team trophy Mizzou will need a couple true freshman to AA. I understand the possibilities of redshirts, weight cut issues, retirement but here’s to wishful thinking:

125-Walker

133-Mendoza

141-Edmonds

149-Gioffre

157-Rath

165-Steed

174-Hawks

184-Sinclair

197-Elam

Hvy-Stillwell

A solid looking lineup to finish 6-7th at NCAAs, barring injury.

I think Sinclair - Hawkes - Elam at 184-285 does better.

I think absolute best case scenario this lineup has 6 AA's and probably nobody top 2 maybe Elam? That may be enough to get on the podium I am not entirely sure. Worst case scenario that lineup could only have Elam AA and to me that's more likely than best case. I do think that Rath,Walker,Mendoza,Sinclair all can and if I were betting will be AA's I'm just not sure how likely it is for 2026. I also think Mendoza Red shirts and then goes 141 he seems to really be growing now.

I see 1 guaranteed AA. That leaves a lot of things having to go right, or near perfect, to bring home a trophy. I also find it hard to believe Hawks makes 174.

That lineup is dangerous. However Hawks and Sinclair would probably flip flop weights. I could also see Elam at HWY with Hawks, Sinclair at 184 and 97. Wouldn’t be surprised if Walker took a RS and Mauger slids in at 125. With Antonio Mills coming the lighter weights have flexibility for RS or ORS.

I'm curious to see what they do with redshirts next year. I get that they'll want to put a more competitive team on the mat, but after a year of development.. I think long term it makes sense to RS everyone next year. In 2026-2027 you'll have Mauger/Walker with 3 years, Mendoza 4, Crapps 3, Rath 4, Bambinelli 4, Steed 2, Sinclair 3, Stillwell 4.

Missed it today, results anyone?

125: All Spratley for a major over Walker

133: Witcraft with a comfortable win over Moore (2 TDs to 0)

141: Edmond over Burton (8-4)

149: Young majors Gioffre (11-3)

157: Fish over Conway (5-1)

165: Amine wins 2-1 over Steed.. questionable stall warning in the first where Amine had an underhook and looked to push Steed OB, Steed tried to circle in but Amine was able to prevent him from getting back inside the circle. Steed got warned a second time while he was riding in the second and that point was the difference. Amine wrestled the most Amine match of the year.

@MizzouFan01 I got you.

174: Hamiti techs Mylin 20-4 with 43 seconds left in the second. Mylin was helpless on his feet, but bumped up and took the match.

It hasn't been declared if Sinclair will be wrestling yet, but he did weigh-in. Smith said he wasn't sure if he was going to save his final event for a home dual..

I know a lot of Mizzou guys are out...but wow, that was a truly miserable performance against OSU today.

I don't think Mizzou will even sniff the top 10 next year.

Fall in the first minute for Wyatt.

Final score: 36-3 OKST

I was impressed with how aggressively that Mizzou HWT started the match. It didn't end well for him though.
