Witcraft will need some witchcraft to beat Ayala (or a hail Mary).

Cam Amine has never beaten Caliendo and is not looking great this year.

We'll have to wait and see what Jacori looks like when (if) he comes back.

Can't argue with anything else. It does seem like odds are slightly in OSU's favor though. Should be electric!

I will argue with the 18-9 final score. Seems un possible.

Yeah I think that's a stretch too. I would flip 133 and 165, which makes 15-12 in favor of Iowa but without much confidence in 157

Totally agree! I would like to see Can Amine jump to Caliedo's level.

Even if closer, barring penalty points  the two team scores must equal at least 30 points.

Hot Mustard Sauce! What a combo!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I think Arnold might take plott would be my only addendum to this post.

Doesn't Witcraft have to do something in college before we take him over a finalist?

Wrestlestat.com has it 21-12 OSU and thats with Witcraft losing.  The only way Witcraft wins is if by pin.  No way Arnold beats Plott, it just can't happen bur sure stuff happens.

Let's wait till we get into Feb, little too early for a Feb 23 sig bet but I should be game with even odds.

Even? You were throwing around snarky remarks about the idea 20 minutes ago.

Does snarkiness change the actual odds? 🙅‍♀️

wrong word, i'll amend to say it was dismissive to say arnold beating plott would just be "stuff" happening, akin to being killed by lightening or something.

Don't think I even said who I'd pick in the dual, just reported the WS prediction.

If you were talking about just betting the Plott v Arnold match then thats different.  But let's wait till we get into Feb I might have lost my sig in some other gambling fiasco before then.

Looking at this matchup really shows how much Iowa has struggled to develop talent from within.

Ayala and Arnold are the only guys on the roster that originally committed to Iowa and seem like solid bets to AA this year. Brands went on an unforeseeable run a couple years ago to AA but he hasn't impressed so far. Kueter could AA this year, and I think he'll be a title contender once the top guys clear out following this season. Ferrari should be ready to compete at a high level next year, but they don't have anyone else truly notable on their roster. FWIW I am not a fan of Iowa and their bravado, but the sport is undoubtedly better when Iowa is thriving.

And before anyone starts listing off transfers on the OSU roster or any other teams, this is not an anti-transfer post. It's just notable that Iowa has brought in returning AAs at 4 different weights and still have two weights without a top 20 guy, and two weights with fringe AA/r12 guys.
