Scoreless first period brings us to a major headlock in the second by Belton.  Witcraft bridges and fights hard to avoid being pinned.

In the third period, Witcraft gets a headlock and his own and he sticks him!  Pin by Witcraft over Belton after he was trailing 8-2

Absolutely brutal end to the third between Young and McDougald. Two stall calls in the last 30 as McDougald just barrels forward in desperation. And then McDougald blatantly fleas the mat by kicking OB to get his foot off the mat and not even a warning issued.

Edit: Wow, that felt like a real hose job against Carter Young. He was the aggressor all but the last 30 seconds in regulation, and they don't warn McDougald until well into OT.

Not to mention the ref forgot that McDougald only had 1 stalling warning when the match was called initially. Super strange and frustrating match.

It was bizarre. And it looked like Young thought they were going back to neutral for a second OT. Did I miss something? I thought OT went: 2 minutes neutral, 30 and 30 for rideouts, if still tied they went back to their feet for an additional minute and then final rideouts? Clearly I missed the rule change.

Witcraft is having a lot of fun this year.

Jack Spates is the old guy announcing, can’t remember the other guy’s name.

Just said Chad McKee.

Fish with the win at 157. No takedowns but a turn at the end along with an earlier escape for the win.

Cam Amine with a 14-3 win over Picklo.

Fun meet to watch. Cowboys moving in the right direction in terms of scoring big points. Not quite fully there yet—e.g., I think Plott and Hendrickson could/should have teched their guys, some lack of awareness here and there in other matches—but the mentality seems to be setting in and producing results. Getting to see this system start to take hold and evolve is pretty cool.

Dang I forgot—you’re right. Let me revise: I felt he rode a bit longer than needed without a turn and could’ve ended things sooner. Not a critique at all; he’s a hammer, and as his ‘wrestling IQ’ continues to rise, I do wonder if he’ll be able to give Kerk, or even Gable, a run for their money. Maybe, maybe not, but he’s a guy I’ll root for in those matches.

I think he'd give Kerk a run now.  Steveson is hard to understand how you take that guy down and gotta have a td to win.

Lucas Davison did it at NCAAs after Steveson was already an olympic gold medalist. It's not impossible but it will certainly piss him off to the point he initiates offense.

i am an idiot on the internet
