How is that?   A jury does not convict, they find guilt or the lack thereof.  It is the judge that enters that into the record and at that point he is convicted and sentenced.   The judge can decide not to do that and then there is no conviction.   A distinction with a difference.

You are talking about paperwork and political power/motivation. None of that changes the fact he was found guilty by a jury of committing 34 felonies. Call it a conviction, don't call it a conviction. It is a distinction without a difference.

In addition, from a legal standpoint, Trump is not convicted, he was found guilty.    There is a legal  difference between the two.   Legally he was found guilty.   Legally, he has not been convicted.

As for your last sentence, I would call that person simple minded to think everything is about unequivocally supporting Trump, and not understanding that people can have opinions on the nuance of the court case in regards to Trump without it being about supporting everything Trump does or doesn't do, or as you like to put it "nut swingers", aka resort to immature name calling like RL and RV...but carry on ...
