Brian Thompson CEO of United Health Care was murdered (shot several times) by a hit man this morning on the streets in New York.

I disagree with your disagreement.   Her intent was to support the shooter.   Murder is wrong BUT......

But nothing.   Murder is wrong.   When people  get pushed too far, they go to court, they settle their differences within the law.   Plus, she assumed he did this because he was wronged somehow.   And came to this conclusion before any real facts came out.   Yes, he has back problems and had surgery because of it.   He did no business with United Healthcare and was never a client of theirs.   So he was pushed so far that he chose a random CEO to kill?   I made fun of her because her position is clearly ignorant and she proved that by clarifying saying murder is wrong period.   So now that she has made her clarification, your questions are moot.   As they should be.   Keep up with the times my friendly little crustacean.

Well, you seem to have taken a childish view here. That's OK - we all have our limits. This is one of yours.

As I already posted earlier to you specifically. Murder is wrong, do you disagree?

You didn't answer my post. Instead, you've typed quite a lot of buffoonery to somehow agree what I've posted clearly. (I guess I should take your childish rant as a compliment - that you agreed with me so strongly.)

And the part where You can only push people so far, do you disagree? Is also true. People have limits and you can only push them so far. But - that is not, and I mean zero, excuse for murder. You do understand that, child?

You misinterpreted what was said. That's not on her. That's on you.

Before you go on yet another childish rant, understand that these things are true... but what's true is not the same as what is absolutely true. So much gray area, so little B&W. In life there are very few absolute truths. Death retains the #1 spot. The rest jockey for position.

I answered you in my response to you if you could read crusty.

murder is wrong, always.

People that are pushed too far use the methods civil society use to get redress for their issues.   They do not resort to murder.   See above.

Plus what pushed Luigi too far to kill a CEO of a company he never had any dealings with?   That is where this line of reasoning completely falls apart.   Being a sentient person, you should be able to see this.

Gambino family boss Francesco "Frankie Boy" Cali was shot dead outside his Staten Island home. That might sound like a normal morning in Staten Island, but this was the most high-profile mob killing since 1985. Naturally, the death sparked a media frenzy, with fears that a new Mafia war could erupt. But the truth turned out to be much weirder. The dude was killed by a QAnon believer. Anthony Comello pulled the trigger for reasons that would require several skeins of red string to explain.

Not very funny.  Reminds me of stuff like:

I have no idea who this is. Is Walter White in the first picture? I was just pointing out that this guy has become meme worthy, not necessarily because of people thinking he's justified or whatever, just for varying reasons.

Apparently he's from a well off family, so he will probably have a very good attorney. I don't really pay attention to it, so I'm relying on what my wife tells me.

I was thinking it's interesting to see this lionization of Mangione when the Say Nothing miniseries was just released. The people who think this was justified would do well to watch it (or read the book!) and see how people like Brendan Hughes felt about their youthful "revolutionary" violence once they reached middle age.

100%.  The Dark walking out of his dingy apartment, past a mural of himself, to his life of manual labor only to die young of a heart attack.

I'm second generation American.  My grandfather came from County Cork 101 years ago.  My mother was raised in an almost fanatical Republican household with her ten siblings.  She was forced to learn the bagpipes and sing songs of Revolution from a young age.  I was kind've brought up around that stuff.  I began to be disgusted by it in the mid 90s, and more and more after 9/11.  I see the lionization of these lunatics now, as well as the useful idiots like Trip and just shake my head.

I very much enjoyed the Say Nothing miniseries btw

Many years ago (2011) I read an article by a favorite author, Chuck Klosterman, saying The Wire, The Sopranos, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad were the four best TV shows of the past decade. It was so long ago that Breaking Bad and Mad Men were still airing. Breaking Bad was his favorite. It was mine too until Better Call Daul.

How do you rank yours?

I’m watching mad men now.  I like it a lot.  I’m in season 6 or 7 somewhere towards the end.   My wife has been picking a lot of shows lately I wouldn’t watch for some reason and they are surprisingly good.   Marvelous ms. Maisel was better than I expected too.

I always have said the wire is the best show ever.  Each season is a little masterpiece of their own.    The hamsterdam season is a little weird though.

since … what would you call it.   Cable / non network tv / hbo / showtime starting making things they have gotten marketable better.

I think sopranos kicked off the genre …. Adult ish (swearing noodity blood gore) tv has been possible it has sort of taken over movies etc.

I left out so many good ones though.

24 (doesn’t fit my premise above)

rescue me

homeland

Ray Donovan

Ozark

glow… on Netflix is really cool

I bet I’m missing a bunch   … I left comedy out on purpose for these lists as I think That’s a diff genre imo… maybe I list some of those next

ooohh, I want to play.  How I categorize them

Best Written - The Wire

Best Story - Breaking Bad

Most Iconic - The Sopranos

Greatest Series Finale - Six Feet Under

Greatest Single Episode - The Bear Season 2 Episode 6 "Fishes"

Best Prequel/Sequel - Better Call Saul

Best Single Season - House of Cards Season 1 (Could replace this with a few of the seasons of the Wire but that first season was dynamite)
