Apologies for the double post.  Weird observation.   This site takes some elongated slow downs and or down time fairly frequently 😞    This seems like one of them.

so, rasta, you'd be ok with no term limits for the president?

i don't even think the first reason for term limits is age and declining ability but rather because the longer you have to get your hooks in, the more corrupt and compromised you are.

The reason for term limits on the Presidency is for fear of the President becoming a dictator or king, due to the over reaching power a President has compared to a congressman.  The reason for no term limits on congress is because it is more localized representation of we the people.

This is basic, standard constitutional knowledge.

That guy in that video is worse off than Biden right now …. Who by the way in recent vids still should not be anywhere the nuclear codes.

Term limits are a different topic, I think, than what this demonstrates.  I am conflicted on term limits and the right of the public to choose their representative(s) from the pool of eligible candidates.

However, WITHIN THE SENATE, every repub senator who voted to keep this guy as minority leader is just as much at fault as everyone in the administration and media who covered up for Joe Biden's mental incapacitation and growing incompetence.  So, JD, why didn't you call out McConnell's incapacity during your time in the senate?  Expediency?  The same thing as Harris not calling out Biden's.

A pox on both your houses.

I said both sides….   Re read it.   Then called them that…. And that wasn’t intended to be a modern pronoun.   It was meant for both parties.

I called them “they”.    Again.  Not a pronoun…. Meant to go after both parties

I know.  I'm agreeing with you and emphasizing the point by calling out the most recent favorite hot shot senator from the repub side.

My wishing a pox on both "your" houses was not directed at the honorable Mr. Caviera.  It was directed toward the dems and the repubs.  Unfortunately, it appears I was too subtle.

Tks.  I hope it didn’t look like I was calling you out sir.

Maybe I’ll double post lol.   Copy from a other thread

and what about the average millionaire ... how are Bernie, Biden, Clinton's ..  doing?

I know tons of folks who make more than 200k annually.  Just a data point but it’s more than a senator makes.  Based on some job titles I’ve seen from others in this forum many others here do too…..

net worth

pelosi D 253 million

Romney R 234 million

mark Warner D 246m

Dan Goldman D 183m

Darrel Issa R 243m

Shyte Chelsey Clinton is worth about 50 million!     Nepotism Much?

no one I know.   No one  making 200k a year is worth 200+ million usd.   The level of corruption, insider trading, and just pure criminal activity is astronomical.

term limits are needed!   They keep themselves in office.   The power, corruption, and influence they wield isn’t measurable.   There is a 100% chance all of these people are all on the take.       The list is so long I stopped typing as I know there is close to a 0% chance people read links or watch vids that are posted.   (See link below)

notice there are Ds and Rs on that list……   Note there are tons more.

#100 on this list is worth 10 million dollars…. That’s crazy I never even heard of her!  Lisa blunt Rochester D-NY house rep.   How are there 100 government sen/house people worth 8 figures.

I don't think we can term limit senators or House members without an Amendment.  That said, they can term limit themselves in their leadership roles.

That way more people can do it and one person does not hog it all up and get drunk with power.

We should never have term limits for US Senators.

Why?   Aren’t they corrupt enough today?

That is the fault of the citizens that continue to vote them in.  At some point the citizens of this country are going to have to look in the mirror and point the finger at themselves

What about races where the party stack who runs in clearly red/blue districts where they don’t have the chance to vote for another red/blue?

Term limits wouldn't fix that.  The parties will just recycle/stack preferred candidates.  And be happy that you can vote who represents you in the Senate.  It was an appointed position up until 1913.

I say this with sincerity.  If you want to make a change on who represents you then get involved and be vocal during the process.

Let’s give up then. Both parties are so far into corruption and bribes and whatever that it’s over then.   Grass roots.   Lol.  That gets stomped out by big business.   Big corporations.  Big donors.  Big bla meh whatever.

You already did give up (see the rest of your message) when you kept voting for the same schmo over and over, because it's just easier to whine and complain, even on anonymous message with tiktok as your backup.
