What are the odds he picks a school other than PSU, tOSU, Iowa, or OSU?

It's hard to imagine him committing outside of the six schools he's taking official visits to, so 1 in 3 chances, all things being equal?

  • Iowa
  • PSU
  • tOSU
  • VT
  • Okie State
  • Rutgers

Different sports but with all the Rutgers chatter I think it is worth noting that they were able to sign the 2nd and 4th rated kids for the 2024 high school class in basketball. It would appear that they have some serious NIL money floating around somewhere. I'm not sure if that necessarily means it's there for wrestling but worth noting none the less. His cousin Mason is also a freshman there this year.

After already being at Cornell and PSU...

I don’t see any chance he picks VT.  Rutgers may have a miniscule chance due to Mason Gibson and geography.

Yeah, what's his connection to Va Tech?

Not sure, only chance would maybe be based on his comment of “wanting to change a program”

I am sort of looking forward to him flaming out.  He will have a decent career, but I predict no senior world team or olympic teams.

Always amazed how Cornell is always overlooked.  For God's sake, they finished top 3 in two of the last 3 years!

Yes, but: tougher entrance requirements (I realize there are workarounds), tougher academic schedule, beautiful area... but not for everyone.

Then you have the fact that his two cousins both committed to Cornell and flipped.  One was even up there for a greyshirt experience and left.  I would take that into account.

Bassett throws a curve and does a THURSDAY elimination.

Missouri Tigers, you are OFF the board. Down to 12.

What are the odds he announces final selection this weekend ... Jimmy?

Friday: attend a packed Gallagher Iba Arena for David Taylor's first home dual. Stillwater loves wrestling even in down years so the energy Friday will be absolutely insane. OSU will whomp Wyoming.

Saturday: OSU football will flail and he'll scoot around the town with Jax to see what's up.

Sunday: attend a packed GIA for DT's second home dual. A repeat of insane energy, a more competitive dual but OSU will still have a solid win. They'll both be like "dang this really is a wrestling crazy town, it would be pretty awesome to wrestle in front of 12,000 wrestling fans every home dual and train with the best in world"

Wish I could be there this weekend!

Official visits have a two day limit, so that itinerary may be cutting it a little close

Sunday's match with OK State vs Arizona St is at 1:00 central.  Last night's match with Wy started at 7:00 and the total attendance was 6,784, the crowd was electric!  The crowd made the match feel like it used to when Iowa was in town, crowd was totally energetic even though it was several thousand people shy of a full house.  But that probably because they wanted to see the new Sheriff in town DT.  I'm looking forward to going back there again tomorrow for the AZ St match.
