Define challenge

I know its early, but I am very much out on Iowa. Block is not at the level I thought he would be (could be partially a weight thing). Drake will probably get his legs at 133 and Knox is good, but that loss pushes any title aspirations I thought he may have out the window for me, and Nelson could go on another 1 score run at NCAA's, but I think Levi would major him. On top of that as of now I think they are a mess at 125 and Keuter does not seem to have made that jump I was anticipating but also not a large enough sample to make most of the assumptions I just did.

Even if you are down on Ayala, Iowa legit has 6 other guys who are title threats:

Parco (transfer)

Teemer (transfer)

Caliendo (transfer)

Arnold

Buchanan (transfer)

Keuter

In a dual format, win at least 4 of the 10 matches.

Wrestlestat has OSU/PSU 4/6 14/18.  Flip one match ... who knows.

I do not see Caliendo, Arnold, or Keuter as title threats.

Oklahoma State or Ohio State?

Are you kidding?  Aren't you a wrestling fan?

Really?

Caliendo is currently ranked #2 at 165, but you don't see him as a title threat?

I will give you three reasons.

  1. 12-6
  2. 23-7
  3. 17-9

Iowa, OSU, or tOSU vs Penn State on a hard Training Week or a couple back ups taking the mat might result in Penn State not clinching until Match 8 or 9 of their dual.

I see wrestlestate has it 19-14, but their algorythm might need to be questioned since they have Lilledahl losing by TF, Haines losing, and Hendrickson beating Kerkvliet.

Upcoming match v. Lehigh could have some good individual matches, but hard to see how Lehigh steals a win.

Lehigh has a shot at many weights:

125 - Lili v. Seymour - Seymour is pretty tough, but Lili favored

133 - Crookham at least a slight favorite over Davis/Nagao

141 - Stanich is interesting but BB favored

197 - Beard in at least a tossup

HWT - Taylor is tough, but probably not on the level of Kerk

Would take a minor miracle for Lehigh to win the dual.

Lilledahl is not going to lose by TF, ever in his college career.  He could certainly lose though.  So could Haines and Kerk.

It is possible, but predicting those losses does not make sense. Did they even watch Kerk wrestle Wyatt?

I mean Wrestlestat doesn't "watch" anything.  I think Kerk wins, but Pindrickson is a pinner and could get lucky.  Maybe they are assuming a big bump up from being in the Ok St room with Magic Man.

Haines has 2 career Ls to 14 for Hamiti. Haines went unbeaten last year. Kerk beat Hendrickson each of the past two years and the matches weren't actually close, even the one close on the scoreboard.

I said to question their algo first, but you are a troll so you do what you do.

Yeah but they don't have Hughes in at 133, I plugged him in, he will be the guy now that proved he can wrestle a tournament at 133.  He might even be able to win the 133 match but well never know cause the dual won't happened.  But I've proved they meet the sufficient condition for the Jimmy "challenge question."

No. And Iowa can't either.

Penn State's 2nd string and wrestlers redshirting.
