I'm super excited to see how much more improved Troy Spratley is this year.  I know he fell short of All American status at Nationals last year but I can't help but think he's going to surprise a lot of people this year. With workout partners like Fix, Gilman and RBY in the room pounding on him everyday, once he steps on the mat with other opponents we will see his transformation from last year.  He major decisioned National champ Fig at their duel last year and he will get him again early this year when they duel November 24th.  A match to watch!!!  So pumped!!  Let's Goooooooo!

People have been saying that the word out of the room is that he has seriously jumped levels. This weight has a ton of guys to watch. Lilledahl, Mark Anthony Mcgowan (former cadet world champ) I dont know that hes wrestled a competition match in like 18months so really no way to gauge where he is at. Kale Peterson down at 125 at 125 U. Greg Diakohmihalis. Majored Sotelo last year and outside of a fall to miller had two 1 point losses finally getting a chance to start. Vinny kilkeary "beat" Braeden Davis and feels like a true 125 which I think is a real bonus come March. Very exciting weight similarly to last year.

Sprately is the real deal. He had wins last year over Luke Stanich, Jacob Camacho, Terukina, Richie Figs, Noah Surtin, Tanner Jordan, Cooper Flynn and more. 5 of his 8 losses were 1 point or SV. If he has truly jumped levels he is a title threat. He also does every possible little thing to try to get in his opponents head which is fairly entertaining.

I must be pretty inconsistent. His wins last year dropped next to "8 losses" is sort of jarring...but its 2024 125 so it was basically the wild west.

Guys who are moving from 125 to 133 for this year:

Drake Ayala

Anthony Noto

Luke Stanich (will be on RS)

Braeden Davis

Brett Ungar

Jack Maida

Ethan Berginc

Tristan Lujan

Sean Spidle

Ryan Miller

Markel Baker

Drew Heethius

Separately, the following guys dropping down to 133 from 141:

Cleveland Belton

Jordan Decatur

Lucas Byrd returning from medical redshirt.  Connor McGonagle enters the field off the bench from Lehigh.

Vito, Fix, Teske Colaiocco exhaust eligibility, Nagao enters a medical redshirt, while Latona and Basile bump to 141.

Sorry for the tangent, but 133 got turned on its head this offseason.

Is this confirmed?

Also...I'm a big Lucas Byrd fan. I don't know the kid...I don't particularly care about Illinois...I just like the way that kid competes and Wrestles. I hope he can get on a run and win it. I don't think he will, but it'd be nice.

I dont have any inside scoops - I just caught it on Wrestlestat and have seen projections from other knowledgable types on the matter that - whether Nagao is on Med RS or not - Davis is the expected starter.

And I'm totally with you on Byrd.  Love his style

I know the first 5 listed who are probably the most notable are all confirmed.

He has the talent, no doubt. He lacked the consistency last year to make a title run. With another year under his belt and the training partners and coaches that he has, I would not be surprised to see him wrestling Saturday night this year.

The only odd thing I see him do is smile. No shoves or mind games. Kid's thrilled to wrestle

I think he's going to thrive under Gilman. My first introduction to Spratley was actually him working out with Gilman during this video series at Eric Guerrero's club several years ago.
