Pyles posted on X (formerly known as twitter) proposing Parker will be Carter's toughest opponent on the road to winning a title.  Maybe I'm biased as a PA boy but for me I'd put SR citizen KemDog vs Freshman Carter as his biggest obstacle.  Curious to read where you fellas are at on this topic

It probably depends on what you mean by biggest obstacle.  If you mean freshman Carter was less likely to win (in part by being a freshman) then you might be right.  But as far as opponent, give me 2024 Keck over '21 KemDog

I think when you account for their Big 10 match Carter beating kem at NCAA's is still by far the biggest obstacle even if Keck were to win at the all-star I think it will be very close where the big 10 finals against Kem honestly was not.

Valid point. More fun if my question is open ended and you can interpret the question however you'd like.  As for Pyles his exact quote is, "The best wrestler that Carter Starocci will ever face is gonna be in his senior year."  I still believe that's debatable

Sadly its gonna be a boring match, decided either by Starocci stalling on top or just wearing keck down and getting a takedown in the third.

I agree with @Dogbone.   The answer to the question you’ve posed here is easily Keckeisen, IMO

Can't vote for something that hasn't happened yet.  Kem beat Carter at BigTens that year.

Of course you can.  It's part of the fun.  David Taylor is still undefeated against Dake.

Dustin Plott in a flow interview said, "I've gotten a lot better at wrestling" and that is enough for my blindly optimistic pea brain to decide it's a 3-horse race now.

Kem earned one escape pt in an OT match.

Mehki at least scored a TD.

Labs got decked without scoring a pt.

The trio were all afraid and wouldn't even shoot and all three got shut out.

Mehki wins this one.

There is an argument to be made for 2021 Kemerer.  He had beaten Mark Hall during 2019-2020.  I think all of people would say that Mark Hall is better than Keckeisen's best win, which is probably Trent Hidlay. Although maybe not since Hidlay retired Mark Hall at the OTT this year. He also obviously beat 2021 Carter Starocci.  Kemerer also dominated Bernie Truax 8-1 at NCAAs in 2021.  The following year in 2022 Keckeisen split with Truax at NCAAs.

It's really a shame that Mehki Lewis hasn't been healthy since his RS freshman season. At full strength, he's the best finals opponent Starocci has faced, IMO.

Keckeisen will be a challenge because 1) He's really good; 2) moving up a weight isn't easy. But let's remember that Keckeisen trailed Truax with 15 seconds left in their match at the All-Star Classic last year.

last year blew my mind why all 3 opponents wrestled so timidly against starocci.  they should have pushed the pace more

Was he even cradled again?  Has he cradled anyone since?  WWVS (what would Valencia say)?

I rest my case.  🤠

Pyles mention on FRL that Parker is 1 of 3 guys in the last 10 years to bonus every guy at NCAA's the other two were Nolf and Zain. Guys that did not do that during that time period Bo,Spencer,Gable,Brooks,Yianni,Ringer. After hearing that stat it sort of answers the question for me now regardless of how weak 184 may have been last year when you also account for Carter going up in weight.
